NOT ONE GOOD WORD FAILED THAT THE LORD PROMISED TO THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. ALL CAME TO PASS.

Shalom,

Our teaching this morning will be about Joshua dividing the whole land of Canaan to the tribes of Israel for their inheritance, to the time of his death at 110 years old.

JOSHUA WAS A GREAT MAN OF GOD WHO SAID, BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.  AND JOSHUA SERVED THE LORD. JOSHUA 1.6-9

THE TITLE OF OUR MESSAGE IS, NOT ONE GOOD WORD FAILED THAT THE LORD PROMISED TO THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL.  ALL CAME TO PASS.

The battle with the Canaanites for the land of Canaan was over.  And the land was at rest from war.  And GOD’S Promise to Abraham was fulfilled in which GOD said to Abraham, And I will give to you and to your descendants after you this land wherein you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession.  And I will be their GOD.  GENESIS 17.8

So, with The Mighty Hand of The LORD GOD OF ISRAEL, The Children of Israel prevailed, and conquered, and possessed the whole land of Canaan from The River of Egypt to The Euphrates River.  And it was time for Joshua to divide the land of Canaan to the tribes of Israel for their inheritance.

But first, let’s talk about The River of Egypt.  Because The GOD-given Borders of Israel are from The River of Egypt to The Euphrates River.  And my question has always been, Where is The River of Egypt?  Other than we know that The River of Egypt must be in Egypt.

GENESIS 15.18  IN THE SAME DAY THE LORD MADE A COVENANT WITH ABRAM, SAYING, UNTO YOUR SEED HAVE I GIVEN THIS LAND FROM THE RIVER OF EGYPT TO THE GREAT RIVER, THE RIVER EUPHRATES. 

Let’s look at JOSHUA 15.1-4 and verse 47

We know that when The Children of Israel were slaves in Egypt, they lived in The Land of Goshen.  GENESIS 47.5-6

From looking at various maps of Egypt, Goshen was located near a wadi.  This wadi, that is a stream or river, is near the eastern arm of The Nile that is excellent pasture land.  And Goshen was near a river and had excellent pasture land.

I BELIEVE THAT THE RIVER OF EGYPT IS NEAR GOSHEN WHERE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL LIVED IN EGYPT WHEN THEY WERE SLAVES.

LET’S LOOK AT DEUTERONOMY 11.22-24  FOR IF YOU WILL DILIGENTLY KEEP ALL THESE COMMANDMENTS WHICH I COMMAND YOU TO DO THEM, TO LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD, TO WALK IN ALL HIS WAYS, AND TO CLEAVE TO HIM,

THEN WILL THE LORD DRIVE OUT ALL THESE NATIONS FROM BEFORE YOU, AND YOU SHALL POSSESS GREATER NATIONS AND MIGHTIER THAN YOURSELVES.

EVERY PLACE WHERE THE SOLES OF YOUR FEET SHALL TREAD SHALL BE YOURS.  FROM THE WILDERNESS AND LEBANON, FROM THE RIVER, THE RIVER EUPHRATES TO THE UTTERMOST SEA SHALL YOUR COAST BE.

THE SOLES OF THE FEET OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WALKED ON, OR TREAD ON THE WILDERNESS, FROM THE RIVER OF EGYPT BY GOSHEN ALL THE WAY TO THE EUPHRATES RIVER.

THOSE ARE THE GOD-GIVEN BORDERS OF ISRAEL.  FROM THE RIVER OF EGYPT AT GOSHEN TO THE EUPHRATES RIVER.

AND THOSE WILL BE THE BORDERS OF ISRAEL WHEN THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, THE MESSIAH YESHUA, RETURNS AND ESTABLISHES HIS MESSIANIC KINGDOM IN ISRAEL. 

1 KINGS 8.65

2 KINGS 24.7  THIS PERIOD OF TIME IS AFTER GOD EXILED HIS PEOPLE FROM SOUTHERN ISRAEL IN 586 B.C.E./B.C. TO BABYLON FOR SEVENTY YEARS BECAUSE OF ISRAEL’S SINS AGAINST THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL.

THE BABYLONIAN EMPIRE WAS MUCH OF CURRENT DAY IRAQ, KUWAIT, MUCH OF SYRIA, AND JORDAN.  AND ISRAEL THEN BECAME PART OF THE BABYLONIAN EMPIRE FOR SEVENTY YEARS.

Now to get technical.  In GENESIS 15.18, THE RIVER OF EGYPT in Hebrew, is NAH’HAR MEETZ’RAH’YEEM

In JOSHUA 15.4 and 47, THE RIVER OF EGYPT in Hebrew is NAH’HAL  MEETZ’RAH’YEEEM

Both NAH’HAR AND NAH’HAL are identical.  Both meaning river or stream.

SO I BELIEVE THAT THE RIVER OF EGYPT IS WHERE GOSHEN WAS WHERE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL LIVED IN EGYPT WHILE THEY WERE SLAVES FOR 400 YEARS IN EGYPT.

JOSHUA 15.63  AS FOR THE JEBUSITES THE INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM, THE CHILDREN OF JUDAH COULD NOT DRIVE THEM OUT.  BUT THE JEBUSITES DWELL WITH THE CHILDREN OF JUDAH AT JERUSALEM TO THIS DAY.

HOWEVER SOME 300 YEARS LATER WHEN DAVID BECAME KING OF ISRAEL, KING DAVID CAPTURED JERUSALEM AND MADE JERUSALEM THE CAPITAL OF ISRAEL.  2 SAMUEL 5.6-7

VERSE 6  EVEN THE LAME AND THE BLIND WILL TURN YOU BACK.  NOT GOOD WORDS TO SPEAK TO DAVID.

NOR DID THE CHILDREN OF EPHRAIM AND MANASSEH DRIVE OUT THE CANAANITES.  AND THE CANAANITES LIVED AMONG THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL UNDER TRIBUTE.  TRIBUTE MEANS THE CANAANITES WERE LABORERS AND WORKERS FOR THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.  JOSHUA 16.9-10

JOSHUA 18.1  AND THE WHOLE CONGREGATION OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL ASSEMBLED TOGETHER AT SHILOH AND SET UP THE TABERNACLE OF THE CONGREGATION THERE.  AND THE LAND WAS SUBDUED UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL BEFORE THEM.

SHILOH WAS IN THE TERRITORY OF EPHRAIM, ABOUT 25/30 MILES NORTH OF JERUSALEM.

JUDGES 21.19  SHILOH AND BETH EL WERE IN EPHRAIM.

JOSHUA 19.9  THE CHILDREN OF SIMEON HAD THEIR PORTION OF LAND WITHIN THE TRIBE OF JUDAH BECAUSE THE TERRITORY OF JUDAH WAS TOO MUCH FOR THE CHILDREN OF JUDAH.

THE BORDER OF ASHER IS THE NORTHERN MOST BORDER OF ISRAEL ON THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA TO THE CITIES OF TYRE AND SIDON IN LEBANON.  JOSHUA 19.24-31

JOSHUA 19.51  SO THE LAND OF CANAAN WAS DIVIDED FOR AN INHERITANCE TO THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL BY LOT IN SHILOH BEFORE THE LORD AT THE DOOR OF THE TABERNACLE OF THE CONGREGATION.  AND THEY COMPLETED DIVIDING THE COUNTRY OF THE CANAANITES TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.

NOW IT WAS TIME TO APPOINT CITIES OF REFUGE IN THE LAND FOR KILLERS WHO WERE EITHER INNOCENT OR GUILTY TO FLEE TO FOR JUDGMENT.  JOSHUA 20.1-9

AND IT WAS ALSO TIME TO GIVE THE LEVITES CITIES WITHIN THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.  JOSHUA 21.1-21 ff

AND THE LORD GAVE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL ALL THE LAND THAT HE SWORE TO THEIR FATHERS.  AND THEY POSSESSED IT, AND LIVED THERE.  JOSHUA 21.41-45

IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO LIVE OUR LIVES ACCORDING TO EVERY WORD SPOKEN BY GOD IN THE LAW OF MOSES AS JOSHUA SAID TO THE PEOPLE.  IT IS A SIN THAT THE NATIONS AND SO MANY MESSIANIC CONGREGATIONS FAIL TO LIVE BY TORAH, THE LAW OF MOSES.  JOSHUA 22.1-6

BUT WAR ALMOST BROKE OUT BETWEEN THE TRIBES, BECAUSE THE TRIBES LIVING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE JORDAN RIVER BUILT AN ALTAR THERE FAR FROM SHILOH.  WHEN THE OTHER TRIBES HEARD OF IT THEY PREPARED FOR WAR AGAINST THEIR BROTHERS THINKING THE TWO AND A HALF TRIBES LIVING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE JORDAN RIVER WOULD WORSHIP STRANGE gods.  BUT THE ALTAR WAS FOR A WITNESS FOR THOSE TRIBES BETWEEN THEM AND THE LORD.  AND PEACE PREVAILED.  JOSHUA 22.10-14, 26-34

JOSHUA SPEAKS WORDS OF WISDOM TO ISRAEL AND ALL WHO CLAIM TO WALK IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF GOD WHO IS THE MESSIAH YESHUA, THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.  JOSHUA 23.1-16

LET’S FINISH THE BOOK OF JOSHUA BY READING THE GREAT WORDS OF JOSHUA BEFORE HE DIED.  WORDS AND ACTIONS THAT MUST BE THE LIFE OF EVERY PERSON WHO CLAIMS TO BE A CHILD OF GOD, TODAY, YESTERDAY, AND FOREVER.  JOSHUA 24.1-33

FROM THE TIME OF EXISTENCE, EVEN BEFORE THE EARTH WAS FORMED, THERE AM I. AND NOW THE LORD GOD HAS SENT ME AND HIS SPIRIT

Our teaching this morning will be from Joshua 14.1-15.

AND THE TITLE OF OUR MESSAGE IS, FROM THE TIME OF EXISTENCE, EVEN BEFORE THE EARTH WAS FORMED, THERE AM I.  AND NOW THE LORD GOD HAS SENT ME AND HIS SPIRIT.

So let’s get started with our study.

JOSHUA 14.1  And these are the countries which The Children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan which Eleazar The Priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of The Children of Israel distributed for inheritance to them.

An inheritance, as you all know, is receiving property by succession or will.

Succession is property that passes from a deceased person to another.

A Will, as you also know, is a legal document that indicates a person’s wishes as to how their property is to be distributed after their death.

Neither applies to GOD giving the land of Canaan to The Children of Israel for an inheritance because GOD Created The Heavens and the earth.  Therefore all the earth belongs to GOD and He can do with the earth whatsoever He decides to do with it.

Therefore GOD gave the land of Canaan to The Jewish People for an Inheritance, and an Everlasting Possession that became The Land of Israel.

Why the land of Canaan?  Because of the iniquity of the Canaanites, GOD said.  And Canaanite sin was full and complete when GOD moved The Israelites to destroy the Canaanites from off the face of the earth.

And Canaan, today The Land of Israel, is the most beautiful of all lands.

GENESIS 1.1, GENESIS 15.16-21, GENESIS 17.8, LEVITICUS 25.23, EZEKIEL 20.5-6

GENESIS 15.16  Amorites are used as a term for all the Canaanite nations.

JOSHUA 14.2-3 By lot was their inheritance, as The LORD Commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.

For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes, and a half tribe on the other side of the Jordan River.

But to the Levites He gave no inheritance among them.

Lot, in Hebrew, as in, By LOT was their inheritance, is GO’RAWL, meaning, Little stones or pebbles used in casting lots to Find Out or Discover GOD’S Will to divide the land of Canaan to the tribes of Israel.  Therefore lots were cast.

Moses did not give any inheritance of the land of Canaan to the Levites because GOD is their inheritance.  Meaning, all that was offered to The LORD became the inheritance of the Levites.  The Levites ate The Offerings made by fire to The LORD.  And every tithe, and every thing, that was given to The LORD was given to the Levites.

And though no inheritance of the Land of Israel was given to the tribe of Levi, GOD Commanded that each tribe was to give the Levites a portion of the land they inherited for cities for the Levites to live in.

And within the forty eight Levitical cities were six cities of refuge.

DEUTERONOMY 18.1-5, NUMBERS 35.1-16 ff

JOSHUA 14.4  For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim.  Therefore they gave no part to the Levites in the Land except cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle, and for all their livestock to graze.

JOSHUA 14.5  As The LORD Commanded Moses, so The Children of Israel did, and they divided The Land.

I think of what GOD says through His Prophet Isaiah about doing what GOD says, in ISAIAH 48.18.

O that they had Listened to Me and Obeyed My Commandments.  Then had Your Peace been as a River, and Your Righteousness as The Waves of The Sea.

Those are two Great Blessings for doing what GOD says, Peace and Righteousness.

LET’S LOOK AT ISAIAH 48.16.  KNOWING THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD, AND NOT THREE DIFFERENT GODS, THESE WORDS GOD SPOKE TO HIS PROPHET ISAIAH TELL US VERY CLEARLY THAT THE LORD GOD, HIS SPIRIT, AND THE MESSIAH YESHUA, ARE ONE AND THE SAME GOD.  NOT A TRINITY OF ONE GOD BEING THREE DIFFERENT GODS.  THAT IS PAGAN.

YOU MUST ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD.  NOT THREE DIFFERENT GODS.

ISAIAH 48.16  I’M GOING TO READ THIS AS CLOSE TO THE HEBREW AS I POSSIBLY CAN.

COME NEAR TO ME.  HEAR THIS.  FROM THE BEGINNING I HAVE NOT SPOKEN IN SECRET.  FROM THE TIME OF EXISTENCE (EVEN BEFORE THE EARTH WAS FORMED) THERE AM I.  AND NOW THE LORD GOD HAS SENT ME AND HIS SPIRIT.

THE BIBLE TEACHES, AND GOD TEACHES THROUGHOUT THE BIBLE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT AND THE NEW TESTAMENT THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD AND NO OTHERS.

THE TRINITY IS NO WHERE TAUGHT IN THE BIBLE, NOR ARE THREE DIFFERENT GODS EVER TAUGHT IN THE BIBLE.  THE TRINITY IS A FOOLISH INVENTION OF MAN.

ONE GOD IS BIBLE 101.  THE ONE GOD IS THE LORD GOD THE MESSIAH YESHUA AND THE SPIRIT.  THEY ARE THE SAME GOD.

GOD SAYS THROUGH THE PROPHET, THE LORD GOD HAS SENT ME AND HIS SPIRIT.

MESSIAH CLARIFIES WHO ME IS, AS IN, THE LORD GOD HAS SENT ME AND HIS SPIRIT, IN JOHN 12.44-45  THAT READS, YESHUA CRIED AND SAID, HE THAT BELIEVES ON ME, BELIEVES NOT ON ME, BUT ON HIM THAT SENT ME.  AND HE THAT SEES ME, SEES HIM THAT SENT ME.

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD.  PERIOD.

ONE GOD AND NO OTHERS IS GOSPEL.

OBEDIENCE TO EVERY WORD GOD SPEAKS IN THE BIBLE IS GOSPEL.

AND EVERY WORD GOD SPEAKS IN THE BIBLE IS THE GOSPEL.

DEUTERONOMY 6.4, ISAIAH 43.10, HEBREW BIBLE ISAIAH 9.5, CHRISTIAN BIBLE ISAIAH 9.6, MARK 12.29, 1 PETER 1.25

JOSHUA 14.6-13  Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal.  And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said to him, You know The Word The LORD said to Moses The Man of GOD concerning me and you in Kadesh-barnea.

7  Forty years old was I when Moses The Servant of The LORD sent me to spy out the land.  And I brought him word as it was in my heart.

8  Nevertheless my brothers that went up with me made the heart of The People melt.  But I fully followed after The LORD My GOD.

9  And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon your feet have trodden shall be your inheritance, and your children’s forever because you have followed after The LORD My GOD.

10  And now, behold, The LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty five years, even since The LORD spoke this Word to Moses while The Children of Israel walked in the wilderness.  And now I am this day eighty five years old.

11  As yet, I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me.  As my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

12  Now therefore give me this mountain of which The LORD spoke in that day.  For you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and the cities were great, and walled.  If so be, The LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as The LORD said.

13  And Joshua blessed him, and gave to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, Hebron for an inheritance.

Hebron is 19 miles south, southwest of Jerusalem, and lies in The Judean Mountains that are 3,050 feet above sea level.

The Palestinian Arabs, and much of the world say that Hebron, and The West Bank, known in Israel as Judea and Samaria, and even all of Israel are under Israeli occupation.  1,000% WRONG.  Let’s look at Hebron’s history.

There is a legend that Adam was buried there.

But this is not legend.  Abraham, when he was called Abram at the time, lived much of his time in Mamre that is in Hebron.  GENESIS 13.18

Sarah died and was buried in the field of Machpelah in Hebron.

GENESIS 23.2, 19

Isaac lived in Hebron.  GENESIS 35.27

Jacob sent Joseph to his brothers from Hebron to Shechem.  That’s where the brothers thought of killing Joseph, and Joseph ended up in Egypt.

GENESIS 37.12-14

Abraham, Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, Leah and Jacob, are buried in Hebron.  GENESIS 49.28-33, GENESIS 50.13

The twelve spies of The Children of Israel went to Hebron when they searched the land of Canaan.  NUMBERS 13.1-2, 22

Joshua killed the king of Hebron when Israel conquered Canaan.

JOSHUA 10.22-27, 36-37

JOSHUA 14.13-14  HEBRON IS IN ISRAEL, AND HAS BEEN IN ISRAEL FOR 3,400 YEARS, AND WILL ALWAYS BE IN ISRAEL.

Hebron is written 73 times in Tnakh, The Old Testament.  Today, Hebron is a city of the Palestinian Arabs in Israel.  The Palestinians never had claim to Hebron.  Hebron is a Jewish City.  The World should know that.  The Palestinians should know that.

Jewish history goes back 4,000 years with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and their families living in Hebron.

GOD gave the land of Canaan to The Jewish People for an Inheritance, for an Everlasting Possession that includes Hebron and all of Judea and Samaria called The West Bank.  GOD never gave that land to the Palestinians or any other people but The Jewish People.  One day in the future when The LORD, The Messiah Yeshua returns, all The GOD-Given land from the river of Egypt to The Euphrates river will return to Israel and The Jewish People.  GENESIS 17.8

So Joshua loved Caleb because he was a GODLY man who did what GOD told him to do.  And he was a tough guy.  And Joshua loved him, and blessed him.

You know, we, you and I are a very small and select group of people who love The LORD Our GOD, who live by Every Word GOD Speaks in The Bible, and we know and believe in One GOD, not three different gods.  And when we come across people who walk with GOD, and follow every Word GOD Speaks in The Bible, we love them also, and bless them as Joshua blessed Caleb.

Caleb and Joshua were the only two out of twelve spies whom Moses sent to search the land of Canaan, and returned with a positive report that Israel could defeat the Canaanites because GOD said, Search the land of Canaan which I give to The Children of Israel.

What’s the old expression?  If GOD said it, I believe it.  Caleb and Joshua believed what GOD said.  Search the land of Canaan which I give to The Children of Israel.  They believed GOD and they lived.  The ten others did not believe GOD and they died.

NUMBERS 13.1-2, NUMBERS 14.36-38

ALWAYS BEST TO DO WHAT GOD SAYS RATHER THAN NOT DO WHAT GOD SAYS.  THAT ALSO IS BIBLE 101 THAT’S WRITTEN AD INFINITUM, AGAIN AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, WITHOUT END.  OBEY GOD.  EVERY WORD HE SPEAKS, FOR YOUR GOOD.

JOSHUA 14.14  Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite to this day because he fully followed after The LORD GOD of Israel.

15  And the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-arba, which Arba was a great man among the Anakim (the giants).  And The Land had rest from war.

I would like to add to this study that many Jewish People and many Christians are mistaken when they believe that Jesus or Paul started Christianity.  That is no where taught in The Bible.

Christianity began at Constantine’s Nicaea Council of 325 A.D. some 295 years after Jesus Christ’s Death, Burial, and Resurrection.

And there in Nicaea, Christianity separated themselves from The Jewish People, and from GOD, by rejecting The Law of Moses that is The First Five Books of The Bible.  Rejecting GOD’S Saturday Sabbath, Rejecting The Festivals of The LORD written in Leviticus 23, Rejecting GOD’S food Laws written in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14, and most in Christianity reject GOD’S Teaching of One GOD that is taught throughout The Old Testament and The New Testament.

The trinity of one god being three different gods is an invention of Christianity.

Christianity replaced GOD’S Festivals and Sabbath with their own man made holidays, and sabbath.

Thus there are no Jewish roots in Christianity.

And Jesus and Paul never converted from Judaism to Christianity.  That is false, and no where written in The Bible.

The translators of The New Testament make you believe from their foolish translations that Jesus and Paul and the other Jewish followers of Messiah converted to Christianity.  That is false, and no where written in The New Testament.  They all remained Jewish as Jesus remained Jewish.  And they lived their lives by Torah, The Law of Moses.  MATTHEW 1.1-2, EXODUS 4.22

Jesus taught Torah, The Law of Moses by example because He lived His Life according to The Law of Moses.  And His Teachings were always in agreement with The Law of Moses.  Never did Messiah teach anything that was not in Covenant with The Law of Moses.

Jesus is The Torah.  Meaning, The Law of Moses is The Spoken Word of GOD.  And Jesus is GOD, GOD ALMIGHTY Who gave The Law of Moses to Moses for The Jewish People and all the world to live by.

Messiah said, It is written, Man does not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds out of The Mouth of GOD.

The Law of Moses proceeds out of The Mouth of GOD.

MATTHEW 4.4, LUKE 4.4, DEUTERONOMY 8.3

There was no Church in New Testament times.  During New Testament times, The True Followers of Messiah Yeshua / Jesus Christ were simply Believers in The Messiah Yeshua.  Not Christians, but Jews and Gentiles who followed The Jewish Messiah Yeshua, and lived then, and today by Every Word GOD Speaks in The Bible.  And they met in private homes.

Many Jewish People when asked, How will you know The Messiah when He comes?  Most say, We don’t know Who He is, but when we see Him, we will know Him.

And they are correct.  Because Tnakh, The Holy Scriptures say, When they look upon Me (Messiah Yeshua) Whom they have pierced, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son.  (Because we Jewish People have rejected Him for so very long)  ZECHARIAH 12.10
