PROPHECIES OF MESSIAH YESHUA IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

All the prophecies in T’Nakh, The Old Testament that predict the first coming of the Jewish Messiah, are fulfilled by Yeshua The Messiah.  These prophecies are confirmed in The New Testament that Yeshua is GOD Almighty, the promised Messiah, and a Priest forever after the order of Mechitzedek.  The Messianic prophecies may total as many as 450.  Our list this morning is but a few.

Messiah Yeshua is GOD, The One GOD of Creation.

The Hebrew word for God is Elohim.  Elohim is translated gods, but when speaking of the God of Israel, Elohim is translated God.  God is One, there is no other, but the God of Creation is a plural. Elohim, the God of Creation, is the Father, the Messiah, and the Holy Spirit.

GENESIS 1.1, 26, GENESIS 3.22, GENESIS 11.7, ISAIAH 6.8, MICAH 5.1 (2)

(Micah 5.2)  RULER IN ISRAEL – RULER – MAHSHALL – One Who rules and reigns as King

COME FORTH UNTO ME – PSALM 110.1  Messiah has come forth unto The LORD.  He sits at His right hand.

WHOSE GOINGS FORTH – OO MO AH TAHYVE – His origins, His beginnings

FROM OF OLD – ME KEH DEHM – from eternity, i.e., no beginning, no end – GOD

FROM EVERLASTING – OLAM MEE MAY
From the days of eternity; meaning, from eternity, having no beginning or end – GOD

Messiah is The One GOD of Creation.  As a human being, He was born in Bethlehem, but He was fully GOD.  He has no beginning or end.
                            ISAIAH 9.6, PSALM 45.6-7

New Testament confirmation

TITUS 2.13, 1 JOHN 5.20  Yeshua is the true GOD
JOHN 12.45, JOHN 14.9, JOHN 10.30

Messiah Yeshua is The Son of GOD.
PSALM 2.7, PROVERBS 30.4

New Testament confirmation

MATTHEW 3.16, 17, LUKE 1.32-33

Messiah as a human being was born from a virgin.
                            ISAIAH 7.14, LUKE 1.26-35

Messiah’s first coming was at the exact time as predicted in T’Nakh.  DANIEL 9.24-26

VERSE 25  The commandment, NEHEMIAH 2.8

                            one week = 7 years
                            69 weeks = 483 years

Week in Hebrew is SHAHVUAH –  A week of seven years

VERSE 26  It took 49 years to complete the building of Jerusalem; 7 weeks = 49 years.

Plus 62 weeks = 434 years
The 434 years plus the 49 years to rebuild Jerusalem = 483 years.

Messiah Yeshua came the first time at the 483d year after the commandment in Nehemiah 2.8 to rebuild the wall in Jerusalem, and rebuild the Temple exactly as prophesied.

After the 483rd year, Messiah was killed. In 70 A.D. (C.E.) Jerusalem and The Temple were destroyed by the Romans.

And continuous wars in Israel are determined.

SUMMARY
1)  Messiah Yeshua came the first time 483 years after the commandment in Nehemiah 2.8 to rebuild the wall in Jerusalem, and rebuild The Temple.

2)  after the 69 weeks, or 483 years, Messiah was killed.

3)  then in 70 C.E./A.D., the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and The Temple.

4)  exactly at the time prophesied in T’Nakh

Messiah was to be a Prophet like Moses.

THE MERCIFUL AND GRACIOUS GOD IN THE OLD TESTAMENT. PSALM 113

Shalom.  Our message this morning is from Psalm 113, a Psalm about GOD’s absolute authority over all His Creation, and His great kindness to every human being.  Psalm 113 is also about praise.  Praising The LORD Who is exalted above all His Creation, above all existence, and above all outer space.  And His praise should come from everyone, because The LORD our GOD is everywhere at the same time.

PSALM 113.1  Because we are all GOD’s creation, The Bible says everyone should praise The LORD.

Praise The LORD in Hebrew is HA LEH LU YAH

PRAISE – HAH LAHL Means to shine, that is glow in The LORD, make a show for The LORD, praise Him with singing, boast about Him, brag about Him, and rejoice in The LORD.

Praise O you servants of The LORD.  Everyone should praise The LORD, but especially His servants.

Servant in Hebrew is EH VEHD.  A servant is one who serves and obeys his or her Master.  A servant of The LORD is one who serves The LORD and obeys Him.  Just as Yeshua said in Matthew 4.4, We are to live by every Word that proceeds out of the Mouth of GOD.  That is how we should live our lives.

Praise The Name of The LORD.  For example, praise His Name, Adonay Elohaynu, The LORD our GOD.  GOD has many Names; Yehovah, Elohim, GOD, I AM, Yah, The LORD of Hosts, Melchitzedek, Who is Yeshua.  His Name is Holy, The LORD our Righteousness, The Branch, The GOD of Hosts, Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty GOD, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, El Shaddai, GOD Almighty, Immanuel, GOD with us, Yeshua, The Word of GOD, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Adonay, Adone, The GOD of Israel, The Mighty GOD of Jacob, El Elyone, GOD Most High, Elohay Y’Israel, The Mighty GOD of Israel, and I’m sure I’ve left out some of His other Wonderful Names.  Praise The Name of The LORD.

GOD’s Names imply His power and authority, His mercy and kindness, His love and honor and truthfulness, His character, and so much more.  GOD’s power is omnipotent, that is His power is unlimited.  Everything is possible by Him.  The LORD GOD judges everywhere.  He commands and enforces Law, He influences,  He punishes, and He blesses His Creation.  By Him all things consist.  By Him, all live or die.  Paul wrote in Colossians 1.16, “For by Him were all things created that are in Heaven, and that are in the earth, visable and invisable, whether they are thrones or dominions, principalitites or powers, all things were created by Him, and for Him.”
PSALM 115.3, 13-15, NEHEMIAH 9.6, ACTS 17.28

Praise The Name of The LORD, you servants of GOD.

113.2  Blessed be The Name of The LORD.

Blessed in Hebrew is BAHRAKH – meaning GOD is blessed and praised, glorified, and honored.  He is exalted mightily above everything that exists.  And GOD’s Name is blessed from this time forth, and forevermore.

And forevermore in Hebrew is VEE AHD OLAM, meaning, GOD’s Name is blessed always, throughout eternity, in perpetuity, without end.
                            PSALM 72.17-19, 1 CHRONICLES 29.1-13, DANIEL 2.20-23

(Daniel 2.20) WISDOM – KHAKH MAH – being wise, and intelligent, having skill and wisdom.  All are from GOD.  All our skills are from GOD.

(Daniel 2.21)  CHANGES – SHNAH  to be diverse, different.

Blessed be The Name of The LORD from this time forth and forevermore.

113.3  We are told by the writer who himself or herself is a servant of GOD, to praise The LORD at all times, from the rising of the sun, to its going down, from the east to the west, The LORD’s Name is to be praised.  PSALM 34.1-8

113.4  The LORD is high above all nations, He is high above the cosmos.  He is high above all His Creation, all that exists, all outer space.  The LORD is high above the sky, He is high above the Heavens.  GOD is above all the nations, and His glory is above the Heavens.

GLORY – KAH VODE – His spendor, His majesty, His magnificence, His radiance, and light, His honor and His glory are above the Heavens.

HEAVENS – SHAHMAH YEEM – the sky, the globe, all the spaces of Heaven, however vast and infinite, GOD is high above the Heavens.
DEUTERONOMY 10.14, ISAIAH 40.15-17, 22-23, ISAIAH 66.1

(Isaiah 66.1)  What place could serve as My home?

The LORD is high above all nations, and His glory above the Heavens.

113.5  No One.
                            Exodus 15.11-13, 18-19, Deuteronomy 33.26-29, Isaiah 46.3-5, 9-11

There is no one like The LORD, no not one.

113.6  HUMBLE – SHAH FAYLE – GOD brings Himself to a low place, to look upon the things that are in Heaven, and in the earth.

Behold, as in, GOD beholds the things that are in Heaven, and in the earth.  BEHOLD – RAHAH meaning, GOD sees and looks upon the things in Heaven and earth.  He even appears, and has respect for the things in Heaven and earth.

GOD appeared to certain people in The Bible.  He looks upon the things that are in Heaven and earth, and has respect for them.

GENESIS 17.1-8  VERSE 1  The LORD, The Almighty GOD is Yeshua.

GENESIS 18.1-15  The LORD Who appeared to Abram is Yeshua, because The LORD GOD is Yeshua.

MATTHEW 24.3  It was GOD Who appeared to His people and taught them.  It was GOD Almighty Whose Name and Title are Yeshua The Messiah.

ISAIAH 57.15  The Highest of all, The Creator of Heaven and earth, Yeshua The Messiah lives with the contrite and lowly in spirit, and He revives us in times of difficulty.

CONTRITE – DAH KAHR – crushed like powder

HUMBLE – SHAH FAHL – low and depressed, and submissive to His Word.

POOR – AH NEE – depressed, afflicted, humble, lowly, needy and poor and submissive.

CONTRITE SPIRIT – NE KHAY RU AKH – hurting, dejected, crushed.

TREMBLE – who tremble at My Word,  Tremble, KHAH RAYD – means one who fears GOD, who trembles at The Word of GOD.  That is, one who is afraid not to obey GOD.

Thus we learn, and for many, have experienced, that GOD is with the poor and needy, the crushed in spirit.  He is with those who fear Him, and tremble at His Word, afraid not to obey The LORD their GOD.  These words of Isaiah 66.2 and Isaiah 57.15 articulate and describe our GOD and Messiah Yeshua powerfully.

Messiah Who is GOD Almighty, cares for the poor and needy, the crushed in spirit, and those who tremble at His Word.  Who says there is no grace and mercy in The Old Testament?  Wherever The LORD GOD is there is grace and mercy in abundance.  The Old Testament is filled with GOD’s grace and mercy.  He dwells with him or her that is crushed and has a humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

113.7  The GOD of mercy and grace raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill.  This is a description and commentary of our GOD and Messiah, Yeshua Ha Mashiakh.

                            JAMES 2.5, 1 SAMUEL 2.8-9, 2 SAMUEL 7.4-17

(James 2.5)  POOR – AH NEE – poor, needy and humble; the humble who are submissive to GOD.

(2 Samuel 7.8)  SHEEPCOTE – flocks and pasture.

(2 Samuel 7.16)  Yeshua will sit on the throne of David forever, and rule over The Kingdom of Israel and the nations forever. David was not
a rich guy when God made Him King of Israel. In fact he might have been soemehat poor and needy.

GOD raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill.  Yeshua came to this earth as a poor and humble man, Who as Messiah and King, having Salvation, rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.

113.8  And GOD sets us with princes, even the princes of His people.

PRINCES – NE DE VEEM – princes, nobles, the honorable, the upright and the righteous.

Let’s look at some Scriptures that describe GOD’s love for us.

                            PSALM 22.1-3, 13-24, ISAIAH 53.6-12, REVELATION 5.9-10

He sets us with princes, even with the princes of His people.

113.9  BARREN – AH KAHR – barren, childless

How can a barren woman who is childless be a joyful mother of children?  I think that this verse has to do with Israel in the end of days.  Israel is often spoken of in The Bible as a woman, as in Genesis 3.15.  GOD said to satan, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed.  It will bruise your head, and you will bruise His heel”.

Even today, there is enmity and hatred with satan toward Israel, and between the demons of satan and the Jewish people.  But in time to come Messiah, the seed of the woman (Israel) will destroy satan forever.  satan has bruised the heel of Messiah.  Messiah was raised on the 3rd day, sits on the right hand of GOD and will return to destroy satan and all his followers, and set up His 1,000 year Messianic Kingdom in Israel, after all the nations of the world attack Jerusalem.

Zechariah 14 tells us the nations will conquer Jerusalem, and divide the spoils.  And Israel will be like a barren woman, thinking The LORD their GOD has forsaken her, thinking her GOD has forgotten her.  But at that very moment of pain and agony, The Mighty GOD of Jacob, Who is The Messiah Yeshua, will return from Heaven with all His Holy Ones, the Saints with Him, and save His People Israel. Then The LORD GOD Elohim will bring millions upon millions of His Jewish people back to the land of Israel, to establish The Messianic Kingdom, the 1,000 year Millennium.  His Jewish people will look upon Him Whom we have pierced, and mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son. Zechariah 12.10

Today’s borders of Israel will be too small and narrow for all GOD”s people.  Thus as GOD has promised in Genesis 15.18-21, The LORD GOD will enlarge the borders of Israel to the Euphrates River that flows through Syria and Iraq.  And Israel’s borders will include Lebanon, and Jordan, and to the Nile River in Egypt.  And Israel will blossom like the Garden of Eden.  Israel will no longer be barren.  She will keep house and be a joyful mother of children.  Praise ye The LORD.

                            ISAIAH 49.19-23, ISAIAH 60.10-16, ZECHARIAH 8.6-8, ZEPHANIAH 3.14-20

GOD will make the barren woman to keep house and to be a joyful mother of children.  Praise ye The LORD.

You know something?  The GOD of Israel, The Mighty GOD of Jacob Who humbles Himself, Who raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill, to set us with princes, even with the princes of His people, is none other than Yeshua The Messiah, The GOD of Grace and Mercy and Truth, Who loves you so much, He gave His life for you so that you can spend eternity with Him in His Kingdom on earth, and in Heaven forever.  Praise ye The LORD.

THE LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD – EXODUS 6.14-27

Shalom.  Our teaching this morning will be from Exodus 6.14-27.  Now Moses and Aaron were Levites as were John the Baptist, and Barnabas.  So this morning, I thought we would do a study on the Levites, who they are, and how did GOD use them?

(READ EXODUS 6.14-27)

LEVI – LAYVEE – joined, attached

Leah gave her 3rd son the name Levi for a reason, hoping her husband Jacob would be joined to her.  GENESIS 29.34

JOINED – LAHVAH – joined, attached

Levi was the 3rd of Jacob’s 12 sons, and Levi’s mother was Leah.  Leah first had Reuben, then Simeon, or in Hebrew Shimone, then Levi, and after Levi she had Judah, then Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah.  The time is some 3,500 years ago.  Genesis 29.31-35, Genesis 30.17-21.

And of course, Aaron, Moses, and Miriam were Levites.  The name Mary comes from the Hebrew name Meeryam, or in English, Miriam, the sister of Moses.

John the Baptist was a Levite, LUKE 1.5-17
Because his father was a priest and a Levite
And John’s mother was a Levite, verse 5

VERSE 5   The course of Abia – the division of the priesthood.

Priest in Hebrew is Kohayne.  The names Cohen and Katz come from the Hebrew Kohayne.

Barnabas was a Levite.  ACTS 4.36

Why did GOD choose the Levites to serve Him?  There are a couple thoughts to that question.

1.  Because of the important positions of Moses and Aaron, both appointed by GOD.  Moses lead the children of Israel out of Egypt, and Aaron assisted him, especially in speaking to Pharaoh for Moses.

2.  Because of the loyalty of the Levites to GOD when the children of Israel sinned against The LORD at the time they made the golden calf.  EXODUS 32.25-29

Those perhaps are the reasons GOD chose the Levites to serve Him.

The priests, the priesthood, and the high priest are all from the tribe of Levi.  EXODUS 40.12-15

I don’t believe anyone in Judaism calls themselves a priest today.  Perhaps Rabbi, but not priest.  This is because the Jewish priesthood is somewhat dormant these days.  The priests mostly served The LORD in the Temple, but because there is no Temple standing today since the Romans destroyed it in 70 CE/AD, the Jewish priesthood is inactive, but it will be restored again at Messiah’s return when the Millennial Temple will be built.

                            NUMBERS 8.13-19

Much of the duties of the priests were in the Tabernacle and Temple.

Celibacy was never a feature of the Jewish priesthood.

TABERNACLE – MEESHKAHN – Meeshkahn also means Temple.

As said, the priesthood will be fully restored at Messiah’s return when He establishes the 1,000 Messianic Kingdom.  EZEKIEL 44.15-16, 23-24

However, we are not without a High Priest today because Yeshua The Messiah is our High Priest.

                            HEBREWS 2.16-18

VERSE 17 BEHOOVED – Messiah was OBLIGATED, He had to be made like His brethren, the Jewish people, because He is Jewish.

Messiah is our merciful and faithful High Priest in all things pertaining to GOD.  And to make reconciliation for the sins of His People, you and me.  Most Jewish people do not know that Yeshua
is our Messiah, and GOD Almighty, and our High Priest.  One day they will know.  At His return.
                            HEBREWS 7.23-28, HEBREWS 7.1-3, GENESIS 14.18-20, PSALM 110.4

YESHUA IS MELCHIZEDEK.

Thus, it is Law, from Torah that Yeshua is our High Priest.

Let’s return to the Levites.  NUMBERS 18.20-24

The Levites did not inherit any land in Israel as the other tribes inherited land.  But The LORD said to the Levites, “I am your part and your inheritance among the children of Israel.”  Meaning, GOD supplied their every need, He gave them portions of land for cities, towns, and farmland within the tribes of Israel.  They received a tenth, or a tithe from all Israel. And all the sacrifices were food for the Levites.  The Levites received everything from The LORD GOD because He is their inheritance.

An unhealthy and deadly confrontation took place between certain of the Levites against Moses and against Aaron.  Korah, a Levite whose name is recorded in Exodus 6, along with 250 princes of the chldren of Israel, famous in the congregation, men of renown, came against Moses and Aaron, and they came against GOD.
                            NUMBERS 26.1-14, 16.35, 16.41-50

A powerful story, but listen to Moses’ description of the priest who serves GOD.  It is an honor, and a privilege, and special to serve the living GOD.
                            NUMBERS 16.8-10

The high priest’s clothing contained the Urim and Thummim, two unknown objects, but they were powerful.
                            EXODUS 28.28-30

VERSE 28  The ephod was the shoulder piece of the high priest’s garment.

The Urim and Thummim which were in the breastplate of the high priest, were devices, and The Bible doesn’t tell us what they were.  But the Urim and Thummim were used for obtaining GOD’s decisions on important questions which human judgment was found inadequate.  Such as military actions, allocation of land, legal verdicts in the absence of evidence, and the choice of leaders.

How the answer came to the high priest is also unknown.  Again The Bible is silent about that.  But personally, I think The LORD spoke the answer to the priest.

NUMBERS 27.18-21  After Joshua received GOD’s Word from Eleazar the Priest, the children of Israel were to do what Joshua said.  It was the Word of GOD.

I am not so sure the Urim and Thummim were in the first and second Temples.

GOD appointed the Levites to be in charge of the Tabernacle, and later, the 1st and 2nd Temples, called the Tabernacle of Testimony.  NUMBERS 1.50-54

The Tabernacle of Testimony – Meeshkahn ha Aydoote

TESTIMONY – AYDOOTE – to witness, even GOD’s Law, His Law of Moses

A testimony about GOD should always be the Truth.  GOD’s testimony or witness is His Word and His Law.  They stand forever.  They never change, nor do they end.  And GOD’s testimony, His witness of Truth is for all mankind.  DEUTERONOMY 32.1-4

People who lead their lives without GOD’s teaching and instructions, without His Law and Commandments, will turn more and more toward GODlessness and pagan behavior.  Paganism is heathenism.
                            PSALM 2.1-4

VERSE 3  Let us break away from their teachings.  Let us break away from the instructions and laws of The LORD, and against His anointed.&nbs
p; Anointed in Hebrew is MAHSHEEAKH or Messiah, as in Messiah Yeshua.

The Levites taught the Law of Moses to the people, and were also the judges in Israel.
                            DEUTERONOMY 33.8-10, DEUTERONOMY 21.5

As we mentioned earlier, the Levites received the sacrificed animals for food, which leads us to Yeshua’s Passover seder, or the Last Supper as it is called in Christianity.
MATTHEW 26.26

The priests ate the sacrificed animals after they were offered up to GOD, and were killed for the sins of the people.  It was the Law of GOD.

At Yeshua’s Passover seder, the Last Supper, His disciples at the seder, and yes, all Yeshua’s disciples who receive Yeshua according to GOD’s instructions in Jeremiah 31.31-34, who obey GOD’s Law of Moses written on our hearts, and put in our minds, we also have become priests to GOD.  We symbolically have eaten the flesh of the Messiah, the sacrificed Lamb Who is The New Covenant that forgives us our sins, and remembers them no more.

MATTHEW 26.27-28  Messiah’s shed blood of course, is our atonement for our sins.  It is the blood that makes atonement for our sins.  LEVITICUS 17.11

Also Messiah’s shed blood established Him as The New Covenant GOD promised the Jewish people and all the world in Jeremiah 31.31-34, to be Law.

Moses gives an excellent example of the shed blood of sacrificed animals establishing GOD’s Word as Law, to be obeyed by everyone.  EXODUS 24.1-8

VERSE 7  The Book of The Covenant is The Law.

VERSE 8  The blood established GOD’s Word as Law, to be an everlasting Covenant to be obeyed by all.

And the shed blood of Mesisah established Him as The New Covenant, to be obeyed by all for an everlasting Covenant.

The Bible teaches that all who receive Yeshua The Messiah, The New Covenant, and obey GOD’s Law as taught in Jeremiah 31.31-34, are now kings and priests forever to GOD.  That is GOD’s Plan, His Great Plan for Israel, that Israel will be a Kingdom of Priests, and a Holy nation according to Torah, the Law of Moses in Exodus 19.5-6.  And that also applies to all non-Jewish people who join in with Israel in Truth and obedience to God’s Divine Law of Moses.
                            EXODUS 19.5-6, REVELATION 1.5-6, REVELATION 5.10,
                            REVELATION 15.1-8, REVELATION 20.6

(Revelation 15.5) The Temple of the Tabernacle of Testimony is in Heaven.

So being priests of GOD, as we are, who receive Messiah, The New Covenant, and obey His Law written on our hearts, is no small matter.  The GOD of Israel has separated you to bring you near to Himself, to make you kings and priests, because He cares for you, He loves you, and He would even have you teach others His Law, because The Law of Moses is an important part of The New Testament.

Shalom,  Ira Weinstein

GOD’S PROMISES TO YOU. EXODUS 6.9-13

Shalom.  Our teaching this morning will be from Exodus 6.9-13.  And our message will focus on GOD’s mercy and grace, Who always keeps His promises, and always helps us in our time of need.

READ EXODUS 6.9-13

EXODUS 6.9  The children of Israel would not listen to Moses because their spirit was crushed from hard bondage, hard slavery.

EXODUS 6.10-11  Here is the command from The LORD to Pharaoh king of Egypt the second time.  “Let the children of Israel go out of your land”.  After all it was The LORD GOD Himself Who brought the children of Israel into Egypt 430 years earlier, a total of 70 people to make Israel a great nation.  GOD’s plan was complete.  Israel became a great nation in Egypt.  It was now time for the people to leave Egypt, and by great miracles and wonders of GOD Almighty, and for Israel to have her own land, the land of Israel.  Israel became a people of some 3,000,000.

EXODUS 6.12  BEHOLD – HAYNE – see
And Moses spoke before The LORD saying, see, the children of Israel have not listened to me, how then will Pharaoh do what I say?  I am of uncircumcised lips, meaning, I don’t speak well, my lips are sealed.

EXODUS 6.13  And The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, commanding them concerning the children of Israel, and the king of Egypt, “Bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt”.

Last week we taught on GOD’s grace, His kindness and love to those whom He chooses.  And GOD chose a people to be holy unto Him, the Jewish people, to be a special people to Himself, above all the people that are upon the face of the earth.  Deuteronomy 7.6  To be your GOD, and you are His people.  Genesis 17.7.

And that great honor, to be chosen by GOD, and be special to Him, to be His people, and GOD your GOD, is available to all people of all backgrounds and all religions, if they will accept to honor and do as The LORD commanded the Jewish people.  To fear The LORD your GOD, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve The LORD your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and His laws which He commands us for our good.  Deuteronomy 10.12-13.  And then The LORD GOD says, “As the Jewish people are, so shall the non-Jewish person be before The LORD”.  That is, both people are alike before The LORD GOD when you love The LORD your GOD, and obey His every word.  Numbers 15.15-16, Matthew 4.4.

Many years later, GOD promised another covenant to the Jewish people because we continued to sin, and break GOD’s laws and commandments.  The covenant The LORD promised the Jewish people is The New Covenant to forgive our sins, and remember them no more.  And at that moment of acceptance of The New Covenant, GOD said, I will put My Law in their inward parts, that is their mind and their thoughts, and write it in their hearts, Jeremiah 31.31-34, to love The LORD with all our heart, and with all our soul, to walk in His statutes, and keep His Law, to know the will of GOD, to give us a new heart, and a new spirit.  That new Spirit is The Holy Spirit.  To delight in His Law, to be free from sin and death, to walk after The Spirit of GOD, and not after the flesh, our sinful nature of breaking GOD’s Law, to do the things of The Spirit of GOD, giving us life and peace, love and joy, longsuffering, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self control, and righteousness and truth.

And of course GOD gave this great New Covenant to the Jewish people, and that New Covenant is the Jewish Messiah Yeshua ha Mashiakh, Who is GOD in the flesh.  It is Messiah’s body given for us, and His blood that is shed for us, that forgives our sins, and GOD remembers them no more when we start to live our life believing in Yeshua The Messiah, and endeavoring to walk in The Law that GOD put in our inward parts, and wrote in our hearts.  That Law is The Law of Moses.  This again is GOD’s grace that is available to everybody, to those who will accept GOD’s  instructions.  And again, the Jewish people and the non-Jewish person are alike before The LORD GOD when we receive Messiah Yeshua and apply ourselves to live by every Word of GOD, His Law that He wrote in our hearts, and in our inward parts to do for our good.

With that said, because you are chosen of GOD, GOD’s elect in whom His soul delights, because you believe in the Jewish Messiah Yeshua, and you strive to keep the Commandments and Laws of GOD, and you follow The GOD of Israel, Who is Yeshua The Messiah, Isaiah 9.6(5), John 14.9, etc., you can fully expect GOD to bless you with all His Heavenly blessings, and help you in time of need, and deliver you from every problem, every adversity, from all anguish and distress and tribulation, from every enemy, and from every evil, from grief and hurt, from sorrows, and from all your troubles because you love The LORD your GOD, and because you have received The New Covenant, Yeshua The Messiah, according to GOD’s teachings, fearing GOD, and obeying His Law He wrote in your heart.  You can expect to be delivered always in time of need.  It is GOD’s promise to you, to deliver you out of every affliction, Psalm 34.19.  Just as GOD promised great deliverance to the children of Israel when they were in Egyptian bondage, and delivered them exactly as He said, GOD will deliver you in your time of need exactly as He has promised you.

And that brings us to some of GOD’s promises He personally makes with you, and me, because GOD is your GOD, and you are His people, chosen to be holy and special above all people that are upon the face of the earth.  Thus you never have to doubt GOD, but believe every Word and promise He covenants with you.

The LORD will always guide your life for your good.
                            JOSHUA 1.7-9, PSALM 119.105

(JOSHUA 1.9)  DISMAYED – KHA TAHT – don’t fear, don’t be beaten down, don’t be discouraged

(PSALM 119.105)  by following GOD’s Word, He will guide your path throughout your life, for your good.

And The LORD will reward you with great rewards when you follow Him and do what He says.
                            PSALM 91.9-16

VERSE 13  GOD will deliver you from all your troubles.

Messiah has made you His Disciple.  And by following Him, and being like Him, you will know The Truth.  The Truth is The Word of GOD and His Law.  And The Truth will make you free from sin and death.

                            JOHN 8.31-32

A Disciple of Messiah is one who is taught by Him, and learns from Him.  Most people are taught incorrectly by Bible teachers; never learning The Truth.  Yeshua is GOD, and He is The Word of GOD.  He should be our Teacher, the One from Whom we learn The Truth.

                            ISAIAH 8.16

Bind up the testimony.  Testimony is – TEHOODAH – GOD’S LAW
Bind up the testimony – make GOD’s Law your life.
Seal The Law among My Disciples – lock The Law in their hearts.  SEE VERSE 20  No light in them – they are spiritually dead.

When you are discouraged, The GOD of grace will raise you up, and deliver you.  PHILIPPIANS 4.6-9, JOHN 14.1, 27

(PHILIPPIANS 4.8)  JUST – rig
hteous, holy, law-abiding

(JOHN 14.1)  YESHUA IS GOD

And because you have received Yeshua The Messiah, GOD’s New Covenant, and you keep GOD’s Law of Moses that He has put in your heart, and because GOD is your GOD, and you are His people, GOD will always strengthen you, and deliver you in times of need.
PSALM 27.1, ISAIAH 40.28-31, ISAIAH 41.10, EPHESIANS 6.10-18

When you are worried and seek peace, remember Messiah is The Prince of Peace.
                            PSALM 34.15-19, PSALM 91.1-9, PSALM 119.165
                            ISAIAH 26.2-4, ROMANS 8.6-7, 1 PETER 5.6-10

When the going gets tough, the tough go to The LORD.

The LORD has excellent counsel about anger.
                            PROVERBS 14.29, ECCLESIASTES 7.9, MATTHEW 6.14-15

(MATTHEW 6.14-15)  Your anger might be from not forgiving others.

The LORD says to you, you do not have to fear anything.  But you must fear GOD and obey Him.
                        PSALM 56.11, ISAIAH 54.14,10, HEBREWS 13.6

There are times in life when we need patience, and patience comes from relying on The LORD for all things, trusting in Him, being confident in Him, and believing every Word He speaks, especially when His Word applies to you.
                            PSALM 27.14, PSALM 40.1-4, LUKE 21.19

(LUKE 21.19)  In your patience, that is in your endurance, bearing pain and hardship and continuing on, waiting on The LORD, you possess your souls, that is, you along with The LORD control your life.

When you wait on The LORD to deliver you from the problem, or problems, you exercise patience.  You take control of your life with The LORD at your side rather than caving in to the difficulties, and frustrations, and the evils of life, allowing your life to spiral out of control.

But with patience with The LORD, leaning on Him, and trusting Him, believing His every Word that applies to you, because yes, He loves you, He gave His Life for you, and knowing He will deliver you, in His time.  He always has delivered you, and He always will deliver you, and pleasing The LORD your GOD by obeying His Word, and His Law He wrote in your heart when you received Yeshua The Messiah.  You are never alone.  GOD will never leave you, nor forsake you.  That is His promise forever.  He will always have a way to deliver you from your problem or problems, and put them in your rearview mirror of life, for your good.  So in patience you take control of your life with The LORD your GOD, Yeshua The Messiah, by trusting in Him for everything.

Do you doubt GOD at times?  Do you doubt His promises that apply to you, at times?  Then obey His Law that He wrote in your hearts when you received Messiah Yeshua, and He will show you His love, and His greatness, and His wonderful blessings, because GOD loves you.
                            DEUTERONOMY 7.6-15, ROMANS 10.17

(ROMANS 10.17)  HEARING – SHEMA – hearing, listening, and obeying GOD, His Law He wrote in your heart.

We can always come to Yeshua to obtain mercy, and find grace to help us in time of need.
                            HEBREWS 4.14-16

VERSE 14  OUR PROFESSION – our confession of faith in Messiah.

VERSE 15 – TEMPTED – tested

VERSE 16 – boldly – with assurance, being positive, it is a guarantee

Yeshua is our High Priest, even our Great High Priest.

The High Priest stands before GOD as His Servant to minister to GOD, and serve Him.  EXODUS 40.13-15

The High Priest was a spokesman for GOD to the people in Old Testament times.  He was also a spokesman for the people to GOD.

Today, Messiah is our High Priest Who is also our spokesperson for GOD’s Word to us by His Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is Yeshua The Messiah.  He will always speak the things of GOD that line up with Scripture.  Never a strange word.  That is something that is not of GOD and does not line up with Scripture.

Therefore, we can always come boldly, with assurance, to the throne of grace to obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

A little more on Yeshua being our High Priest.

In Old Testament times, the Priests slaughtered the animals for atonement, for the forgiveness of sins, and the sacrificed animals were food for the Priests.

Today Yeshua is our Sacrifice for our atonement.  As The New Covenant, He was killed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Our sins are forgiven, and GOD remembers them no more.

When Yeshua said of the matzah at His last Passover seder, “Take, eat, this is My Body which is given for you,” Matthew 26.26, Luke 22.19, and the cup of wine, symbolically His blood establishing Him as The New Covenant.  And GOD has made us kings and priests because of our receiving His New Covenant, Messiah.  Thus His Body, symbolically being the Passover matzah was to be eaten by His Disciples, who are now Priests of GOD.  We also are His Disciples, and are kings and priests of GOD.  REVELATION 1.6, REVELATION 5.10, REVELATION 20.6

GOD has made us kings and priests on earth, in the Millennium, and in Heaven forever.  “For since the beginning of the world, men have not heard, neither has the eye seen, O GOD; beside You what GOD has prepared for him that waits on You.”  Isaiah 64.4(3).

So therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we will obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

GOD’S GRACE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT! EXODUS 6.5-8

Shalom.  Our teaching this morning will be from Exodus 6.5-8, but first we will read verses 1-4 to give us more of an understanding of GOD’s Word in our study verses 5-8.

READ EXODUS 6.1-8

GOD is called The Mighty GOD, The Holy One of Israel, The everlasting Father, The One Who inhabits eternity Whose Name is Holy, and many more powerful and mighty Names that describe The LORD our GOD.  But our GOD is also called a GOD Who is gracious and merciful.  Whose mercy endures forever.  A LORD Who shows great kindness and Truth from everlasting to everlasting.  A GOD Who loves us.

And this morning I would like to address GOD’s grace in both the Old and New Testaments, starting with His grace to Israel, the Jewish people that reaches out to all peoples, and all nations everwhere.

Grace in Hebrew is KHAYNE, and for the sake of simplicity, GOD’s grace is His kindness and His love.

At times, GOD’s grace comes with unmerited favor.  That is there are times when The LORD GOD gives us His grace and kindness when we don’t deserve it, or earn it.  For example, GOD’s grace, and love, and kindness for Israel, the Jewish people.  Much of His grace is unmerited favor.  And it started with Abraham as far as the Jewish people are concerned.  And GOD’s grace extends to all peoples everwhere.

And there are times when GOD’s grace must be earned.  And we’ll talk about that later.

Let’s look at Exodus 6.4-8 that tells us of GOD’s grace that He gave to the children of Israel.  They neither earned it, nor did they deserve it.

READ EXODUS 6.4-8

EXODUS 6.4  GOD’s Covenant to Israel to give them the land of Canaan which GOD renamed Israel is a promise from GOD that Israel did not earn.  We did nothing to merit it.  That is GOD’s sovereign Covenant to Israel and to the Jewish people.  It is His grace and His love for Israel and the Jewish People.
                GENESIS 17.1-8, DEUTERONOMY 9.1-6

(Genesis 17.1-8)  All these Covenants of Promise are unmerited favor.  Abraham and Israel did nothing to deserve GOD’s love.  But The LORD graciously gave us those gifts.

(Deuteronomy 9.1-6)  Moses is speaking with a little anger in his words, but it is still GOD’s unmerited grace to destroy the enemies of Israel, and give the Children of Israel the land of Canaan.

GOD’s grace and love for Israel started with Abraham.  We did nothing to earn GOD’s love, and we did nothing to deserve it.  And GOD made Abraham a great person, and from him, GOD made the great nation Israel.  That is GOD’s grace and kindness, and love.
                GENESIS 12.1-3

BACK TO
EXODUS 6.5  Covenant in Hebrew is BEHREET which here is GOD’s Promise.
A promise GOD never changes, and His promise He never breaks.

GOD’s covenant is also His Word, and His Law, The Law of Moses which is also an everlasting covenant.  He never changes it, nor does He break it.  GOD has remembered His covenant He made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, His promise and His Word forever.

EXODUS 6.6-8  These are all sovereign acts of GOD.  His power and authority.  All GOD’s grace, His unmerited favor to the children of Israel.  GOD remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  GOD will bring the children of Israel out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and He will rid them out of their bondage, and He will redeem them, that is deliver them with a stretched-out arm, and with great judgments.  That is, great afflictions, great punishments, and with great sufferings upon the Egyptians.  And GOD will take Israel for a people, and be their GOD, and Israel will know that GOD is The LORD their GOD Who brought them out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

And The LORD brought the children of Israel into the Land which He swore to give it to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob for a heritage, a possession and inheritance.  And only The LORD GOD can say, I AM The LORD.

And in the wilderness after The LORD GOD brought His people Israel out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, The LORD told them, that is He covenented with them, and said, you are a Holy People unto The LORD your GOD.  The LORD your GOD has chosen you to be a special people unto Himself.  Unmerited grace.  Love we did not earn.  Nothing we did to deserve such an honor.  But GOD extends this love and grace to everyone, to those who will receive it.  DEUTERONOMY 7.1-11

(Verses 9-11)  Our responsiblity is to love GOD, and keep His commandments, that is, obey His Law of Moses.  That is required for all of us. That is also how all peoples receive God’s Grace.

ISAIAH 43.1-13
VERSES 3 & 11  Savior – MO SHEE AH The One GOD Who sets us FREE, keeps us SAFE, DEFENDS us, DELIVERS us, and RESCUES us, gives us the VICTORY, and brings us SALVATION.

VERSE 7  Everyone that is called by My Name, that is, called by GOD.  GOD has created you for His glory, for His honor, both Jewish people and non-Jewish people, who love GOD, and keep His commandments, statutes, and Laws.  Those whom GOD has called and chosen keep His Law.

Yes, GOD’s grace and mercy, His love and kindness extend to all people.  His Arm is stretched out to those who will receive Him.  It is a gift of GOD.  But here His gift must be earned.  NUMBERS 15.15-16

(NUMBERS 15.15)  The stranger, or the non-Jewish person is obligated by GOD, just as the Jewish people are obligated by GOD to keep His ordinanaces.  Then GOD says, you and the non-Jewish person shall be alike before The LORD.

ORDINANCE – KHU KAH – Law.  That Law is The Law of Moses.

By the way, obedience to GOD’s Law of Moses includes believing in the Jewish Messiah Yeshua.  So just in case someone might ask you, show me Jesus in The Torah (The Law), your answer is, Messiah’s Name is not Jesus but Yeshua, meaning Salvation, and He is prophesied in The Law, The Prophets, and The Writings. The writings being the Psalms and Proverbs, etc.  Here are a few:

Messiah will:
-Be born from the seed of a woman.  Genesis 3.15
-Be the seed of Abraham.  Genesis 12.3
-Be the seed of Isaac.  Genesis 17.19
-Be the descendant of Jacob.  Genesis 28.14
-Be the Star out of Jacob Who will have dominion.  Numbers 24.17, 19
-Be a descendant of Judah.  Genesis 49.10
-Be a descendant of David.  Jeremiah 23.5
-He is GOD.  Micah 5.2(1), Isaiah 9.6(5)  There are over 300 prophesies.

BACK TO
NUMBERS 15.16  One Law – Torah Ah khat – that is the ONE Law of Moses for everyone.

And One manner.  MANNER – MEESH PAHT- One Divine Law for everybody, and that Divine Law is The Law of Moses.  And all judgments must be according to The Law of Moses.

When Solomon dedicated the Temple to The LORD, he called on The LORD GOD to hear the prayers of the non-Jewish people who call on Him.  1 KINGS 8.41-43

So what are the blessings and grace, and GOD’s love for joining in with GOD’s people, the Jewish people, and observing His Divine Law?  Much in every way.  You receive His grace and His love.  You become fellowcitizens with GOD’s chosen people, the Jewish people, you fully participate in all GOD’s Covenants of Promise which includes the New Coventant.

The New Covenant is described this way in Jeremiah 31.31-34.  With the New Covenant, which is the New Testament, GOD puts His Law in your inward parts, and writes it in your hearts, and He will be your GOD, and you will be His people.  And GOD will forgive
your iniquity, and remember your sin no more.  That is also GOD’s grace and love. That is God’s description of His New Covenant or New Testament.

Yeshua, of course, is the New Covenant, or the New Testament.  And when you believe in Yeshua, GOD puts His Law of Moses in your inward parts, and writes it in your hearts to obey Him.  GOD becomes your GOD, and you become His people.  GOD forgives your iniquity, and remembers your sin no more.  That is GOD’s grace to you.  That is a gift He has given to you, the grace of GOD that extends to everyone.  It is His gift that can either be received or rejected.  Works are involved.  It’s a free gift, but works are involved.

Paul teaches us, By grace are you saved through faith, it is a gift of GOD.  But Paul also teaches, we are GOD’s workmanship created in Messiah Yeshua UNTO GOOD WORKS.  Those good works are obeying GOD’s Law of Moses.  Ephesians 2.8-10

VERSE 8  GRACE – KHAR-ECE  GOD’s grace is His kindness, His favor, and His love for you and me.

SAVED – SODE-ZO – Saved means you are delivered from the bondage of sin, thus you receive eternal life from GOD.

FAITH – this word faith has far-reaching significance.  Faith comes from the Greek word Pistis which means believing in the Truth of GOD.  That is, believing every Word GOD speaks, as Yeshua teaches in Matthew 4.4 and Luke 4.4.  Faith also means believing in the Jewish Messiah Yeshua for Salvation.  Salvation is being delivered from the bondage of sin, and receiving eternal life from GOD.

Continuing on this word faith, the Greek word for faith, Pistis, comes from the Greek word Pi-tho which means to agree and accept to OBEY GOD, His ordinances, His statutes, His commandments, and His Divine Law of Moses which John says in 1 John 5.3 are not difficult.  Thus, faith in Yeshua means believing in Yeshua for Salvation, and being obedient to GOD by obeying His Divine Law, His Law of Moses.  That is also GOD’s grace to those who will receive it.  That is GOD’s gift to you, and His love.

VERSE 9  Not of works lest any man should boast.  It is GOD’s kindness toward you and me, and His love for us that we believe in Yeshua.  It is not of works.  In fact, we don’t deserve it.  We did nothing to earn that grace and faith.  It is a gift of GOD because it is GOD Who put that belief in us.

VERSE 10  This is a huge teaching.  We are GOD’s workmanship.  Workmanship in Greek is POY-AY-MAH, meaning, we are created by GOD to carry out good works.  The good works mean obeying GOD, His Law of Moses.

So you might ask me, prove to me these good works are obeying The Law.  James 1.25

Blessed in his deed means blessed for performing The Law of Moses.

BACK TO
EPHESIANS 2.10  Before ordained that we should walk in them.  GOD appointed us to Salvation, and to obey Him way back in eternity before the Creation.  That is certainly GOD’s grace, and love for you, and me.

So yes, believing in Yeshua is by grace through faith.  It is a gift of GOD.  So now that you are a Believer in the Jewish Messiah Yeshua, Who is GOD Himself, and Giver and Maker of The Law, live your life in obedience to GOD’s Divine Law, His Law of Moses.  That is GOD’s grace and kindness to you.  And Paul is in fact explaining the New Testament.  Believe in Yeshua for Salvation, and lead a GODly and Holy life by walking in GOD’s Law that He has written in your heart.  For GOD says, be Holy, for I AM Holy.  Leviticus 19.1-2.  And that is how you become Holy, by believing in Yeshua, and obeying The Law.

Let me say this, the grace and love of GOD starts in Genesis 1.1 where GOD said, “In the beginning GOD created the Heaven and the earth”. And His grace and love continue throughout The Bible to Revelation 22.21 where John writes, The grace of our LORD Yeshua Ha Mashiakh be with you all.  Amen.  GOD’s teaching is His grace and love.  GOD’s love for us is extraordinary grace.  GOD’s Salvation is His grace and love, and He does not extend it to everyone but those who will receive it.  It is GOD’s gift to you and me.

THE NEW TESTAMENT IS YESHUA AND THE LAW WRITTEN IN YOUR HEART. EXODUS 6.1-4

Shalom.  Our teaching this morning will be from Exodus 6.1-4

READ EXODUS 6.1-4

EXODUS 6.3  Why does GOD call Himself The GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?  I believe GOD calls Himself The GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they are the founding fathers of the Jewish people, and because GOD is The GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the Jewish people.  That is an everlasting covenant as all GOD’s covenants are, and His covenants never change.

And also because every covenant of GOD is with the Jewish people except for the covenants GOD made with Adam and Noah.  As you recall, the covenant GOD made with all mankind through Adam is the covenant for disobeying GOD, curses and death.  And for obeying The LORD, blessings and life.  Genesis 2.16-Genesis 3.24.

And the covenant GOD made with Noah, as you also know, is all mankind will never again be killed by a flood, nor will any flood destroy the earth as before.  And the rainbow, GOD said, is for a sign of the covenant between GOD and the earth.  Genesis 9.11-16

Some of the major covenants GOD made with the Jewish people are:

GOD will make Israel a great nation, forever.
Genesis 12.2

GOD’s covenant to bless those who bless the Jewish people, and curse them who curse the Jewish people.  Genesis 12.3

GOD’s covenant in Genesis 12.3 with the Jewish people, that in Abraham and the Jewish people, all the families of the earth will be blessed.  The blessing comes from GOD for receiving the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua ha Mashiakh, His New Covenant, and from obeying GOD’s Word and Law He gave to the Jewish people.

GOD is The GOD of the Jewish people, and He gave the land of Israel to them for an everlasting possession.  Genesis 17.7-8.

GOD gave His Word and Law to the Jewish people for an everlasting covenant.  And we are to obey it.  Exodus 24.3-8, PSALM 105.8-10

GOD gave the Jewish people the covenant of the Sabbath to keep it for a perpetual covenant.  EXODUS 31.16-17.

Then there is GOD’s covenant He made with King David.  GOD’s covenant with King David is this.  David’s HOUSE, that is his family and perhaps including all true Believers in Messiah, AND DAVID’S KINGDOM, that is where he rules in Israel, and the 1,000 year millennium, AND HIS THRONE.  He and his descendants who are kings will be from the seed of David, and will rule forever in the 1,000 year millennium, and in Heaven.

Yeshua The Messiah is the ultimate fulfillment of these promises.  Messiah is a descendant of David, and He, Messiah, will rule forever on the throne of David in the millennium, and in Heaven.  2 SAMUEL 7.12-16, 1 Chronicles 17.11-14

And the new covenant, which is the new testament, GOD established with the Jewish people for all mankind.  Jeremiah 31.31-34.

These are some of GOD’s major covenants.

BACK TO
EXODUS 6.3  I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob by The Name of GOD Almighty.  El Shaddai, meaning GOD The Mighty One.

Jehovah in Hebrew is Yehhovah, which is The Name of the eternal, self-existent LORD GOD.  Self-existent means GOD exists, He IS, and He IS not dependent on others or anything for His existence.  Rather others and everything are dependent upon GOD for everything.  He is The LORD GOD.  He never changes, and He is the same throughout eternity.

Yehhovah is considered to be the Holiest of all names.  And in Judaism, Yehhovah is never pronounced by Jewish people.  Why?  To avoid taking The Name of The LORD in vain.  Yehhovah in Judaism is read Adonai, meaning my LORD, or Ha Shem, meaning The Name.

The Name Yahway is used by many Christians and Messianics, but Yahway is never found in The Bible in the original Hebrew.  GOD said, My Name is Yehhovah.  He did not say My Name is Yahway, nor did He say My Name is Ha Shem.

Some say the only Name of GOD is Jehovah, or Yehhovah.  But The Bible says GOD has many names.  Jewish thought believes that the two most important Biblical Names of GOD are, Yehhovah and Elohim.  Elohim is a plural word for GOD, meaning GODs, but Elohim is always used as a singular word, GOD, when applied to the One GOD of Israel.  GOD is Elohim.  The Father is Elohim.  Messiah is Elohim, and The Holy Spirit is Elohim.  There is only One GOD.  There is no other.  And GOD is Elohim.

So let’s look at some of GOD’s Names.

I AM, or I AM that I AM is One of GOD’s Names.  It’s believed The Name Yehhovah is connected to The Name, I AM that I AM, when GOD said to Moses, thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me unto you.  Exodus 3.14.  I AM that I AM in Hebrew is EHYEH ASHER EHYEH, which interpreted means eternal existence.  Yehhovah also means eternal existence.  Yeshua referred to Himself as I AM, because He IS I AM.  He is The LORD GOD Who has eternal existence.  JOHN 8.58

GOD’s Name is also Yah, as in Halleluyah, meaning in Hebrew, Praise The LORD.  Yah is thought to be the shortened form of Yehhovah.  PSALM 68.4

The LORD of Hosts is His Name.  ISAIAH 48.2

Mechitzedek, meaning King of Righteousness is also a Name for The LORD GOD.  GENESIS 14.17-20

GOD’s Name is Holy.  ISAIAH 57.15

THE LORD our Righteousness is a Name for The LORD GOD, Yeshua Ha Mashiakh.  And He will be called by this Name in the millennium, and in Heaven.
JEREMIAH 23.5-6

His Name is also called The Branch.  Zechariah 6.12

GOD is called by another Name, The LORD, The GOD of Hosts.  AMOS 4.13

Our GOD and Messiah is called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty GOD, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  ISAIAH 9.6 (5)

His Name is also Immanuel, GOD with us.  ISAIAH 7.14

Yeshua is His Name.  The Name above every name because Yeshua is GOD, He is Elohim, Yehhovah, and every other name GOD is called by.  PHILIPPIANS 2.9-10

His Name is called The Word of GOD, and KING OF KINGS, and LORD OF LORDS.  REVELATION 19.11-21, 13, 16

Yeshua is also known as the living Torah.  That is GOD’s living Law, GOD’s Law of Moses, The Name given to GOD’s Law.  Because every Word GOD speaks is Law.  And Yeshua is GOD.  And it is through the study of Torah, GOD’s Law of Moses, that individuals can know the will of GOD.  So when people reject The Law of Moses, they reject Yeshua, they reject The Word of GOD, and they reject GOD Almighty.

EXODUS 6.4  Established, as in I have established My covenant with them. ESTABLISHED is koom, meaning MADE, as in, I made My covenant with them, and established also means DECREE, meaning all GOD’s covenants are LAW, GOD’s Law  And we will see later on that The New Covenant, or The New Testament is law.  COVENANT – BEHREET – a Covenant of GOD is a promise.  A promise that GOD makes, a promise He never changes, a promise He never breaks, and His covenant is a promise forever, throughout eternity.

EXODUS 6.4  PILGRIMAGE – MAH-GOOR – a temporary place to dwell or live in, even a temporary address, because one day Heaven and the New Jerusalem will be Israel’s permanent address, and all who have joined in with Israel.  After the millennium, GOD will cause the earth and Heaven to flee away and vanish, leaving only The New Heaven, and new earth, The City of New Jerusalem.  That will be our permanent address forever.  REVELATION 20.11

BACK TO
EXODUS 6.4  STRANGERS – GOOR – The Jewish people, or the children of Israel were strangers in Canaan during the days of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Jaco
b’s 12 sons and daughter Dinah.  But when GOD brought His people out of Egypt 430 years after they left Canaan, GOD brought them back to the land of Canaan where they no longer were strangers.  GOD gave all the land of Canaan to His People Israel, which He renamed, The Land of Israel.  This is a covenant of GOD for an everlasting possession for as long as the earth exists.

Since we are talking about covenants, what is The New Covenant, or what is The New Testament, which are one and the same?

The New Covenant, or The New Testament is Yeshua AND The Law of Moses.  That whosoever believes in Yeshua should not perish, but have everlasting life.  That is the teaching of The New Testament because when we receive Yeshua, GOD puts His Law in our inward parts, and writes it in our hearts, and GOD will be our GOD, and we will be His people.  And The LORD our GOD will forgive our iniquity, and He will remember our sin no more.
JEREMIAH 31.31-34, JOHN 3.16, HEBREWS 8.8-12 (10), HEBREWS 10.16-17(17)

It is critical to receive the New Covenant, The New Testament EXACTLY the way GOD spells it out in Scripture, WITH The Law, WITH The Law of Moses.  GOD has written it in our heart, and in our mind, to know Him, and to obey Him.  And I’ll say this again, it is only through the study of GOD’s Law of Moses that you can know the WILL of GOD.  Because Yeshua said in Matthew 7.21, not everyone that says to Me, LORD, LORD, will enter into The Kingdom of Heaven.  But he or she who does the WILL of My Father which is in Heaven.

Let me say this.  The New Covenant, or The New Testament DOES NOT replace The Old Testament or the Mosaic Law.  GOD forbid.  THE NEW TESTAMENT IS YESHUA THE MESSIAH, ALONG WITH THE LAW OF MOSES.  He is our atonement for the forgiveness of our sins.  The New Testament, Yeshua, replaces ONLY the animal sacrifices which were the old way for atonement.  Nothing else changes.  The Law remains.  The Law of Moses is GOD’s Covenant.  It never changes, nor does it ever end.  The New Testament comes with, and includes The Law of Moses.  That is the teaching and doctine of The New Testament.

The Book of Hebrews teaches us that The New Covenant is fully part of The Law of Moses, as your arm is part of your body.  The New Covenant is Torah.  It is part of The Law of Moses.

HEBREWS 8.6  But now Yeshua has obtained a more excellent ministry.  Meaning, Messiah has become a more excellent servant of GOD, above all others.

Messiah is the mediator of a better Covenant.  That is, Messiah is a better Covenant than the Old Covenant of sacrificing animals for the forgiveness of sins.  As a mediator, when we receive Messiah Yeshua, AND GOD’s Law of Moses, Yeshua reconciles us with GOD Almighty.  GOD then becomes our GOD, and we become His people, He forgives us our sins, and remembers them never again.  Amen?  A better Covenant.

BACK TO
VERSE 6 (Hebrews 8)  This word ESTABLISHED  “which was established upon better promises”, or this Covenant which was established on better promises.

The word ESTABLISHED comes from the Greek word, NOMOTHETEO which means, The New Covenant, or The New Testament is part of The Law of Moses.  The New Covenant is established by GOD as part of The Law of Moses.  NEVER to replace The Old Testament or the Mosaic Law, Never.  Yeshua came 2,000 years ago to complete The Law of Moses, and make it perfect.  That’s what Yeshua means when He said in Matthew 5.17, I have come to fulfill, to make The Law complete and perfect.

So in conclusion, when GOD established His Covenants with Israel, the Jewish People, He also established them with you, because you have received GOD’s New Covenant, Yeshua The Messiah And GOD’s Laws are written in your heart, and you obey them.  GOD is now your GOD, and you are His People.  He has forgiven you your iniquities, and He remembers your sin no more.  That is GOD’s formula for blessings, and His formula for eternal life.  Welcome to the Mishpahkha, GOD’s Family.

Shalom,  Ira Weinstein
