Shalom.
Our teaching will continue in Torah, The Law of Moses, from Deuteronomy 1.9-18.
AND THE TITLE OF OUR MESSAGE IS, THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM, AND UNDERSTANDING.
And with that said, let’s read Deuteronomy 1.9-18.
In The Book of Deuteronomy, Moses reviewed GOD’S Torah, His Laws, Teachings, and Instructions, and the importance of obeying Them.
Israel at the time was in the wilderness not far from entering and conquering the land of Canaan that GOD promised Abraham some eight hundred years earlier. GENESIS 17.8.
The Bible says that The Children of Israel were on the other side of the Jordan River. The other side of the Jordan River did not pertain to Canaan. And Israel was in the wilderness near the Red Sea.
Today, that part of the Red Sea is called the Gulf of Aqaba that is at the Border of the Sinai and the southern-most tip of Israel at Elat.
The time of the writing of The Book of Deuteronomy was the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month from the day that Israel left Egypt in the Exodus to The Promised Land Canaan.
And Moses was one hundred and twenty years old. DEUTERONOMY 34.7
Israel had killed Sihon, the King of the Amorites, and Og, the King of Bashan, Moses told The People.
And Moses began to explain The Law of Moses that in fact contain all GOD’S Laws.
And Moses said, The LORD OUR GOD spoke to us in Horeb, (which is Mount Sinai) and said, You have dwelt long enough in this mountain. Turn and take your journey and go to the mountain of the Amorites and to all the places near there, in the plain, in the hills, and in the low country, and in the south, and by the seaside to Lebanon, to the great River, the River Euphrates. (Those are the GOD-Given Borders of Israel. All the land of Canaan to Lebanon and the Euphrates River.)
And behold, The LORD said through the lips of Moses, I have set The Land before you. Go in and possess The Land which The LORD swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to them and their descendants after them. DEUTERONOMY 1.1-8
And Moses said, I spoke to you at that time saying, I am not able to bear you by myself alone. The LORD YOUR GOD has multiplied you abundantly as the stars of heaven. The LORD GOD of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as you are, and bless you, as He has promised you.
And Moses said to The People, How can I alone bear your troubles, and your burden, and your strife by myself? Take for yourselves wise men, and understanding, and known among your Tribes, and I will make them rulers over you. And you answered me, and said, the thing that you have spoken is good for us to do. So I took the chief of your Tribes, wise men and known, and made them heads over you. DEUTERONOMY 1.9-18
Earlier, quite a few years earlier, when Moses’ father-in-law Jethro, The Priest of Midian who was not an Israelite, had heard all that GOD had done for Moses and His People Israel, and that The LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt. Jethro took Moses’ wife Zipporah and their two sons Gershom and Eliezer, and they came to Moses into the wilderness where Moses and The People of Israel were camped at the Mount of GOD. Also called Mount Sinai.
And Moses went out to meet his father-in-law and his family and bowed to Jethro and kissed him and his family. And Moses told his father-in-law all that The LORD had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake. And all the trouble that had come upon them by the way, and how The LORD delivered Them.
And the following day, Moses sat to judge The People. Remember, there were some three million People of Israel including a Mixed Multitude. And the numbers of people to be judged by Moses were massive. And they stood by Moses from morning to evening.
And when Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law saw all that Moses did for The People, Jethro said, what is thing you are doing? Why are you sitting alone to judge The People and all The People stand by you from morning to evening?
And Moses said, because The People come to me to inquire of GOD. When they have a matter they come to me, and I judge between one and another. And I make them know the Statutes of GOD and His Laws.
And Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, said to him, the thing that you do is not good. You will surely wear away, both you and This People that are with you. For this thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to perform it yourself alone.
Listen to what I say, Jethro said, and I will give you counsel, and GOD will be with you. You are for The People before GOD that you bring their words to GOD. And you teach them GOD’S Ordinances and Laws. And you show them the way they must walk, and the actions and deeds they must do.
This is what you must do, Jethro said to his son-in-law Moses. Provide out of all The People, able men who Fear GOD. Men of Truth, Who Hate Covetousness. And place these men over The People to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
And let them judge The People at all times. And it shall be that every great matter they will bring to you. But every small matter they will judge. So it will be easier for yourself, and they will help you carry the burden.
If you will do this thing, Jethro said, and GOD so Commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this People will be able to go home in peace.
So Moses listened to his father-in-law Jethro, and did all that he had said. And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over The People. Rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. And they judged The People at all times.
The hard cases they brought to Moses. But every small matter they judged themselves. And from that time forward, Moses delegated authority to men who Feared GOD, men of Truth, who Hated Covetousness.
And Moses let his father-in-law depart, and he went his way into his own land. EXODUS 18.1-27
And Moses gladly received his father-in-law’s good counsel. He called these men of authority that he chose to judge The People, Judges. And he told them to judge Righteously. DEUTERONOMY 1.15-16
So in reviewing The Law, it is important to know that the Hebrew Word for RIGHTEOUS is STEH’DEHK meaning Right and Lawful according to Torah, GOD’S Laws that are Written in The Law of Moses. DEUTERONOMY 1.16
To live your life consistently in Righteousness, that is living by Torah, GOD’S Laws, Jethro was correct when he said to his son-in-law Moses, you should choose able men such as those who Fear GOD, men of Truth, Hating Covetousness. EXODUS 18.19-21
WHEN YOU UNDERSTAND AND FEAR THE LORD, KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM, AND UNDERSTANDING WILL GROW IN YOUR LIFE. AND IT WILL BECOME NATURAL FOR YOU TO LEAD A LIFE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN OBEDIENCE TO THE LORD YOUR GOD. PROVERBS 1.7
Proverbs 1.7 Thus The Bible says, fools despise Wisdom and Instruction. Wisdom and Instruction come from The Spoken Word of GOD Written in The Bible. PROVERBS 9.10
Proverbs 9.10 The Fear of The LORD is The Beginning of Wisdom that results in Knowledge and Understanding for The Holy One, The Holy Person of GOD.
FEARING GOD MEANS TO REVERENCE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH AN ATTITUDE OF DEEP RESPECT AND AWE MINGLED WITH YOUR LOVE FOR THE LORD.
BUT FEARING GOD ALSO MEANS THAT YOU SHOULD REGARD THE LORD WITH FEAR.
Understanding what Messiah means when He says, Do not fear them which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. BUT RATHER FEAR HIM, FEAR GOD WHO IS ABLE TO DESTROY BOTH SOUL AND BODY IN HELL. MATTHEW 10.28
When you grasp GOD’S Commandment to Fear GOD, you will begin to be consistent in living a Righteous Life for THE LORD YOUR GOD, submitting to every Word that GOD Speaks in The Bible. That is Knowledge, and Wisdom and Understanding. And add to that, Holiness. MATTHEW 4.4
You see, when you diligently Obey The Voice of The LORD YOUR GOD as Written in The Bible, and observe to do all His Commandments that GOD Commands you in The Law of Moses, The LORD YOUR GOD will set you on high above all the nations of the earth. And all His Blessings will come upon you, and overtake you, IF you Obey The Voice of THE LORD YOUR GOD.
I can tell you from experience and joy that GOD is Speaking Truth when He Speaks those Words, That His Blessings will come upon you, and overtake you IF you Obey the Voice of THE LORD YOUR GOD. DEUTERONOMY 28.1-3, 15
With that said, I implore you not listen to Bible teachers who teach you that The Law of Moses is abolished and no longer in effect. That is the teaching of satan from The Garden of Eden that will destroy your Salvation. GENESIS 2.16-17, GENESIS 3.1-4, 9-12, 23-24
But when you Fear GOD, and do what GOD says, for The Word of GOD Stands Forever, you become a man or a woman of Truth and Righteousness. You become fully part of The Chosen Family of GOD. ISAIAH 40.8, 1 PETER 1.23-25
GOD HAD A REASON TO CHOOSE THE JEWISH PEOPLE TO BE HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE. ISAIAH 43.10-11
GOD Chose The Jewish People to be A Holy People to THE LORD THEIR GOD. To be A Special People to Himself. And to Love The Jewish People though we are the fewest of all people.
And GOD Chose The Jewish People to be His Witnesses and His Servant to Know and Believe GOD. And Understand that GOD IS GOD. That before GOD there was no GOD formed. Neither will there be another GOD after HIM.
That GOD IS THE LORD, AND BESIDE HIM THERE IS NO SAVIOR.
As GOD’S Witnesses to the world, THE LORD requires The Jewish People to Know The Truth about GOD. To know that The LORD GOD IS GOD. THE FAITHFUL GOD that Keeps Covenant and Mercy with all that love Him and Keep His Commandments to a thousand generations.
Meaning, THE GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH IS THE FAITHFUL GOD WHO IS TRUE TO ALL PEOPLES, WHOM WE CAN TRUST AND BELIEVE. WHO KEEPS COVENANT AND MERCY WITH JEWISH PEOPLE AND NON-JEWISH PEOPLE WHO LOVE HIM AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS.
GOD KEEPS HIS COVENANTS FOREVER, AND HE KEEPS HIS WORD AND HIS LAW FOREVER.
AND GOD KEEPS MERCY FOREVER WITH ALL PEOPLE WHO LOVE HIM AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, HIS LAWS TEACHINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THE LAW OF MOSES FOREVER.
THE SAME IS WRITTEN IN THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN EXODUS 20.6 AND DEUTERONOMY 5.10
FOR THE LORD GOD WHO IS YESHUA THE MESSIAH SAYS, IF YOU LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. AND I WILL PRAY TO THE FATHER, AND HE SHALL GIVE YOU ANOTHER COMFORTER (THE HOLY SPIRIT) THAT HE MAY ABIDE WITH YOU FOREVER. DEUTERONOMY 7.6-13, JOHN 14.15-16, 23-24, 1 CHRONICLES 16.15-17
GOD GIVES THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO OBEY GOD’S TORAH, HIS LAW OF MOSES, ALONG WITH YOUR FAITH IN MESSIAH YESHUA. ACTS 5.32
Therefore The LORD made Israel a great Nation in Egypt during four hundred years under Egyptian slavery. And GOD brought The Children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage and led them to their Jewish Homeland, Israel.
Not only because GOD loves The Jewish People, but because GOD loves the world.
For GOD so loved the world that He Chose The Jewish People to be His Witnesses to all the earth through The Bible that Jewish People wrote from Genesis through Revelation, to know GOD, and believe GOD, and understand Who GOD is.
For the world to know that GOD requires all Peoples, Languages and Nations to observe and obey every Word GOD speaks in The Bible that includes His Laws, Teachings and Instructions that are written in the Law of Moses in the first five Books of The Bible. DEUTERONOMY 32.1-2, LUKE 8.21, MATTHEW 7.21-23
And it is The Jewish People, through The Bible, who testify to the world that THE JEWISH MESSIAH YESHUA IS GOD ALMIGHTY, THE GOD OF ISRAEL, WHO AS A HUMAN BEING GAVE HIS LIFE, AND SHED HIS BLOOD TO BECOME THE ATONEMENT FOR ALL MANKIND. TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE AND OBEY ACCORDING TO THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD IN THE BIBLE. PSALM 22.1
GOD’S Chosen Jewish People received GOD’S Spoken Word directly from THE LORD GOD OF CREATION HIMSELF, AND FROM THE PROPHETS OF GOD for all the earth to know GOD and Believe GOD, and obey His Every Word written in the Bible for their good. JOHN 17.14
GOD Chose The Jewish People to be His Witnesses to explain The Truth, The Whole Truth, and nothing but The Truth of GOD from The Bible to all mankind.
AND GOD CHOSE THE JEWISH PEOPLE TO TESTIFY FROM THE BIBLE THAT YESHUA THE MESSIAH IS THE ONE GOD OF CREATION. HE IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, HA SHEM ELOHIM, THE ATONEMENT FOR ALL THE WORLD.
HEBREW BIBLE ISAIAH 9.5, CHRISTIAN BIBLE ISAIAH 9.6, JEWISH BIBLE MICAH 5.1, CHRISTIAN BIBLE MICAH 5.2, JOHN 12.45,49. JOHN 14.9
Today it is so difficult for the masses to believe correctly according to the Written Word of GOD in The Bible because of the many Bible teachers who teach the opposite of GOD’S Word. Preaching and teaching that you don’t have to obey GOD’S Laws that are written in The Law of Moses because Jesus Christ abolished it on the Cross.
Many teach and preach pagan teaching that there is a trinity of three different gods. Both doctrines are Blasphemous, anti GOD, and anti MESSIAH.
THE JESUS CHRIST OF THE BIBLE IS GOD ALMIGHTY, AND GOD ALMIGHTY NEVER ABOLISHED HIS OWN LAW. GOD FORBID.
DEUTERONOMY 6.4, MARK 12.29, LUKE 4.4, ROMANS 2.13, ROMANS 3.31, ETC., ETC., ETC.
For GOD so loved the world that He gave Himself as a Jewish Human Being in The Person of Messiah Yeshua that whosoever believes in Him according to The Written Word of GOD in The Bible, Obeying every Word that proceeds out of The Mouth of GOD, who Knows and Believes there is only ONE GOD and no others, and Yeshua The Messiah is that ONE GOD, they will never perish, but have Everlasting Life. JOHN 3.16.
For The Bible says, Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear GOD, and Keep His Commandments. For this is the whole duty of man. The whole duty of mankind. ECCLESIASTES 12.13
So yes, it is The Children of GOD who have The Word of GOD in our hearts. We Fear The LORD, and we intend to obey Him forever, even throughout eternity in Heaven.
Shalom.
