MAN DOES NOT LIVE BY BREAD ONLY BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE LORD DOES MAN LIVE.

Shalom.

Our Teaching today from Torah, The Law of Moses will continue from Deuteronomy 8.4-20.

AND THE TITLE OF OUR MESSAGE IS, MAN DOES NOT LIVE BY BREAD ONLY BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE LORD DOES MAN LIVE.

And with that said, Let’s read Deuteronomy 8.4-20.

The English name Deuteronomy comes from the Septuagint Bible, and taken from the Greek words “deuteronomion touto” that means “Second Law.”

Second Law can not be correct because GOD has only One Law that is called The Torah, The Law of Moses that is written in the first five Books of The Bible.  And GOD’S Law never changes or ends.  ISAIAH 40:8

However the Rabbis have a better translation for the Book of Deuteronomy which they call, Mishnah Torah, or Repitition.  Repitition meaning, The Repeating of The Torah.

And The Book of Deuteronomy is also understood to be The Book of Law.

Essentially, The Book of Deuteronomy repeats The Torah, GOD’S Law of Moses.

By the way, the Septuagint is the oldest Greek version of The Tnakh, The Old Testament that was written between 200 and 300 B.C.E./B.C.

According to the Minor Tractate Soferim 1.8 (A Minor Tractate is from the Talmud or other Rabbinic works that deals with a specific subject), this Minor Tractate reads that at the command of the Egyptian Ruler Ptolemy Philadephus (288-247 B.C.E./B.C.), Eleazar The High Priest sent seventy-two Jewish Scholars from Jerusalem to Alexandria to translate The Tnakh, The Old Testament into Greek for the Royal Library because of the growing Jewish population in Egypt.

There was no New Testament at the time.  The Messiah Yeshua had not yet been born.  And keeping in mind that the seventy-two Jewish Scholars were sent to translate The Tnakh from Hebrew into Greek.  They were not sent to comment on The Scriptures.

Therefore I would like to add this thought before we proceed to our study in Deuteronomy 8.

It is written in the various Hebrew Bibles in Isaiah 7.14, Therefore The LORD Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, “THE YOUNG WOMAN (OR MAIDEN)” shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Immanuel.

The point I’m making is that the Septuagint that seventy-two Jewish Scholars translated from Hebrew to Greek some 200 to 300 years before the birth of The Messiah Yeshua uses the Greek word PARTHENOS that means VIRGIN.

THEREFORE THE CORRECT TRANSLATION FOR ISAIAH 7.14 SHOULD READ, THEREFORE THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL GIVE YOU A SIGN: BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE AND BEAR A SON AND SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL.

The Hebrew Words in Isaiah 7.14 for Young Woman, or Maiden, or  Virgin are Ha Almah, meaning, THE VIRGIN.  And when doing a Bible Study on The Hebrew Word Almah, The Almah is always virgin.

YESHUA THE MESSIAH WAS BORN FROM THE JEWISH VIRGIN MIRIAM JUST AS PROPHESIED IN ISAIAH 7.14.  AND MESSIAH YESHUA IS IMMANUEL, GOD WITH US.  MATTHEW 1.23

Let’s move to Deuteronomy 8 and review the first three verses.

GOD Commands everyone, Jewish and non-Jewish to observe and do All His Commandments.  That is, GOD Commands all mankind to observe and do all His Laws that are Written in The Law of Moses.  And GOD promises that you will live.  That is, you will live a good life, and a healthy life with blessings, and happiness from GOD.  And you will have Eternal Life.

As you know, during the days that Moses reviewed The Torah in The Book of Deuteronomy, the animal sacrifice for Atonement was performed twice daily on the Tabernacle altar in the wilderness.  Later, the sacrifice for Atonement was made at The Temple during first and second Temple times.  And continued until The second Temple was destroyed in 70 C.E./A.D., some 37 years after Messiah gave His Life for our Atonement.

There has been no Temple in Jerusalem since the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and The Temple.

However there was an interruption of The Sacrifice when The Children of Israel were in exile in Babylon for seventy years from 586-516 B.C.E.  NUMBERS 28.1-4

And as you well know, GOD does not allow the animal sacrifice when there is no Temple in Jerusalem.

THEREFORE,  SINCE THE DESTRUCTION OF THE SECOND TEMPLE IN 70 C.E./A.D., THE NEW COVENANT FOR ATONEMENT THAT GOD PRONOUNCED IN PROPHESY, AND FULFILLED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT IS FAITH IN THE MESSIAH YESHUA FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.

AND FAITH IN MESSIAH YESHUA FOR THE ATONEMENT OF OUR SINS, ALONG WITH OBEDIENCE TO TORAH, GOD’S LAW OF MOSES THAT NEVER CHANGES OR ENDS, RESULTS IN A GOOD LIFE ON EARTH, AND ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN.  LEVITICUS 17.8-9, ISAIAH 53.10, JEREMIAH 31.31-34,

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT TORAH, THE LAW OF MOSES MUST ALWAYS BE OBSERVED BY JEWISH PEOPLE AND NON-JEWISH PEOPLE WHETHER THERE IS A TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM OR NOT.

AND FOR EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES IN THE MESSIAH YESHUA, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO OBSERVE AND OBEY THE LAW OF MOSES FOR ETERNAL LIFE.  FOR GOD SAYS IN DEUTERONOMY 8.3, MAN DOES NOT LIVE BY BREAD ONLY, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE LORD DOES MAN LIVE.

And Messiah Yeshua repeats those Words in Matthew 4.4 and Luke 4.4.  Confirming that everyone, Jewish and non-Jewish people must live by The Law of Moses.

The Writer of The Book of Hebrews writes from GOD’S Words in Jeremiah 31.31-34, This is The Covenant that I will make with them after those days, Saith The LORD.  I will put My Laws in their hearts, and in their minds will I write them.

And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

HEBREWS 10.16-17

WHEN GOD SAYS, I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR HEARTS, AND IN THEIR MINDS WILL I WRITE THEM, THE HEBREW FOR “MY LAWS” IS “TORAH’TI” MEANING, ” MY TORAH, MY LAW OF MOSES.”

THEREFORE GOD PUT HIS LAWS INTO YOUR HEART, AND IN YOUR MIND HE WROTE THEM WHEN YOU CAME TO FAITH IN THE MESSIAH YESHUA.

NOW, IF YOU CONTINUE IN FAITH IN THE MESSIAH YESHUA, AND CONTINUE FOLLOWING GOD’S COMMANDMENTS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THE LAW OF MOSES, GOD GIVES YOU HIS HOLY SPIRIT, AND ETERNAL LIFE.

IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO CONTINUE IN OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S COMMANDMENTS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THE LAW OF MOSES, AND/OR LOSE FAITH IN THE MESSIAH YESHUA, MESSIAH SAYS, YOU DO NOT LOVE ME.

JOHN 14.23-24  KEEP IN MIND THAT YESHUA THE MESSIAH IS GOD ALMIGHTY, THE FATHER.  AND HIS WORDS ARE THE WORDS OF GOD ALMIGHTY, THE FATHER WHO SENT HIM.  JOHN 12.45, 49, JOHN 14.9, HEBREW BIBLE ISAIAH 9.5, CHRISTIAN BIBLE ISAIAH 9.6

AND WHEN MESSIAH SAYS, “WE” WILL COME UNTO HIM, AND MAKE “OUR” ABODE WITH HIM, THE “WE” ARE GOD ALMIGHTY, THE ONE AND ONLY GOD WHO IS THE FATHER, THE MESSIAH YESHUA, AND THE SPIRIT WHO ARE THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO WILL COME INTO YOU AND MAKE HIS HOME IN YOU.  JOHN 14.15, ACTS 5.32, GENESIS 1.26

THEREFORE GOD SAYS, WHEN YOU DO ALL THE COMMANDMENTS THAT HE COMMANDS YOU IN HIS LAW OF MOSES, ALONG WITH YOUR FAITH IN MESSIAH YESHUA FOR ATONEMENT, YOU WILL LIVE.  YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD LIFE ON EARTH AND ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN BECAUSE GOD WILL LIVE IN YOU FOREVER.

AND WRITTEN IN DEUTERONOMY 8.3, GOD MAKES IT KNOWN TO YOU THAT MAN DOES NOT LIVE BY BREAD ONLY, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE LORD DOES MAN LIVE.

AGAIN, MESSIAH REPEATS THOSE VERY WORDS IN MATTHEW 4.4 AND LUKE 4.4, CONFIRMING THAT EVERYONE MUST LIVE BY THE SPOKEN WORD OF GOD FROM GENESIS THROUGH REVELATION.

DEUTERONOMY 8.4  This is another supernatural attribute of GOD.  The clothes that The Children of Israel wore for forty years while they walked in the wilderness, and rode on horses, donkeys, and camels and in wagons from Egypt to The Promised Land did not wear out or decay.  And their feet did not swell.

The miracles of GOD are an everyday thing to The LORD Our GOD.  Therefore, Trust in The LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  Do not depend on your own knowledge and understanding, but Trust in The LORD always in all things.  PROVERBS 3.5

DEUTERONOMY 8.5 This is a Biblical Teaching that is often taught in The Bible that reads, You shall also consider in your heart, that as a man chastens his son, so The LORD Your GOD chastens you.

The word CHASTEN in Hebrew is YAH’SAHR that means, INSTRUCT, CORRECT, PUNISH, AND TEACH.

But The LORD Your GOD Chastens you because, Whom The LORD loves He chastens, for your good, and to grow you in righteousness.

And while the difficult time of chastening is happening in your life, Deuteronomy 8.6 reads, Therefore you shall Keep The Commandments of The LORD Your GOD to Walk in all His Ways, and Fear Him.

To Walk in All GOD’S Ways is to be like GOD Who Leads His Own Life according to His Own Commandments that are Written in The Law of Moses.

YESHUA THE MESSIAH WHO IS GOD ALMIGHTY DID NOT SIN BECAUSE HE WALKED IN THE WAYS OF GOD.  1 PETER 2.21-22, 1 JOHN 3.4

By doing no sin, Messiah led His Life in obedience to all His Commandments that are Written in The Law of Moses.  And by so doing, Messiah did not fulfill The Law of Moses and abolish it.  Rather Messiah Yeshua walked in The Ways of GOD to leave us an example that we should follow His steps.  And His steps to follow are to Obey The Law of Moses that prevents you from sinning against GOD.

So when you are chastened, even if you don’t know why, remember two things.  Will you keep GOD’S Commandments, or not?  And are you living by every Word that proceeds out of The Mouth of GOD?  DEUTERONOMY 8.2-3

Deuteronomy 8.6 also reads, You shall Fear The LORD Your GOD.

Fearing GOD is exactly what the word Fear means.  Not only do you love, respect, and honor GOD, GOD requires you to Fear The LORD Your GOD.  And when you begin to Fear The LORD Your GOD you will begin to do a better job of Obeying The LORD Your GOD and His Commandments.

PROVERBS 1.7, PROVERBS 8.13, PROVERBS 9.10, PROVERBS 10.27, PROVERBS 14.26-27, PROVERBS 19.23, PROVERBS 22.4, PROVERBS 23.17, PROVERBS 24.21, PROVERBS 29.25, ECCLESIASTES 12.13

Let’s look at some Scriptures that pertain to chastisement and wisdom.  PROVERBS 3.11-15, DEUTERONOMY 11.1-2, 8-9, HEBREWS 12.4-11

HEBREWS 12.9  Being in Subjection to THE FATHER, GOD ALMIGHTY, is obeying All GOD’S Commandments that are His Laws Written in The Law of Moses.  And the reason The Writer of Hebrews wrote these words is to teach you to Obey GOD so that you will have a Good Life and Eternal Life in Heaven.

DEUTERONOMY 8.7-9  Though GOD is talking about Canaan that the LORD had The Children of Israel conquer and possess for their own Homeland that is called The Land of Israel, GOD might as well be talking to you and me who live in The United States of America that has all those great attributes that The Land of Israel has.  Brooks of water, and fountains, and valleys and hills, and wheat, barley and vines, and so on.

DEUTERONOMY 8.10  Many of us pray before we eat, but GOD tells us, after we eat, we should Bless The LORD Our GOD for the good land that He has given us.

DEUTERONOMY 8.11-20  Beware.  The word Beware comes from the Hebrew Word SHAH’MAHR that means, Be Careful.  Be Careful not to forget The LORD Your GOD in not keeping His Commandments, and His Judgments and His Statutes which GOD Commands you this day.

Lest when you have eaten and are full and have built good and beautiful houses and dwell in them, and when your work has succeeded, then your heart is lifted up when you feel lofty and proud, and you forget The LORD Your GOD Who sometimes humbled you, and tested you to do you good at the end of your days on earth and has given you Eternal Life in Heaven.

And you say in your heart, My ability and might have gotten me this success.

But you shall remember The LORD Your GOD, for it is He Who has given you ability to succeed, to establish His Covenant with you.  GOD’S Covenant is His Word that is His Law which He has established with you.  PSALM 105.8-10

And it shall be if you at all forget The LORD Your GOD and walk after other gods and serve them, and worship them, GOD testifies to those who follow after other gods that they will surely perish as the nations that The LORD destroyed because they would not be obedient to The Voice of The LORD Your GOD.

So I say, Beware of Bible teachers who teach you not to obey The Commandments of The LORD Your GOD that are written in The Law of Moses.

Remember, Messiah Yeshua came to be your Atonement to forgive you your sins.  He did not come for you to continue breaking The Law of Moses which is sin.  He came to give you Life by not sinning.

Shalom.

AT TIMES THE LORD WILL HUMBLE YOU AND TEST YOU TO KNOW WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART, WHETHER YOU WILL KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, OR NOT.

Shalom.

Our Teaching from Torah, The Law of Moses will continue from Deuteronomy 8.1-3.

AND THE TITLE OF OUR MESSAGE IS, AT TIMES THE LORD WILL HUMBLE YOU AND TEST YOU TO KNOW WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART, WHETHER YOU WILL KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, OR NOT.

And with that said, let’s read Deuteronomy 8.1-3.

DEUTERONOMY 8.1  The Bible teaches us that when you obey The Commandments of GOD, you will live.  The Commandments of GOD are The Laws of GOD.  And The Laws of GOD are The Law of Moses that is written in the first five Books of The Bible.

And as we taught last week, when you obey GOD’S Commandments, His Law of Moses, and have Messiah Yeshua for your Atonement, you will prolong your days.  Your life will go well.  You will have a good life, and a healthy life.  And you will flourish and thrive.  And life will be good for you, your children, and your children’s children when you obey The Commandments of The LORD Your GOD.

And when you obey The Commandments of The LORD, you will excel in life, and your life will be blessed because you walk in The Ways of The LORD.  And you will be GOD’S People, and GOD will be your GOD.

And when you obey GOD’S Commandments, The Law of Moses, and have The Messiah Yeshua for your Atonement, The Bible says, Whatsoever you ask of Him, you receive, because you keep GOD’S Commandments.  And when you obey The Commandments of The LORD your GOD with Messiah Yeshua, you will have Eternal Life in Heaven.

HEBREW BIBLE DEUTERONOMY 5.29-30, CHRISTIAN BIBLE DEUTERONOMY 5.32-33, DEUTERONOMY 6.1-3, DEUTERONOMY 30.15-16, 19-20, PSALM 119.1-4, EZEKIEL 36.27-28, MATTHEW 4.4, 1 THESSALONIANS 4.1, 1 JOHN 3.22-24, REVELATION 22.14 (KJV)

DEUTERONOMY 8.2  The Bible teaches very important lessons about life.  GOD’S lessons are key to a good life on earth, and Eternal Life in Heaven.

And the key to open the door to a good life on earth, and Eternal Life in Heaven is walking with GOD.  Doing what The LORD your GOD says to do in The Bible.

But at times during the course of your life, The LORD Your GOD will Humble you and Test you, to know what is in your heart, whether you will obey GOD’S Commandments or not.

Remember that.  At times The LORD Your GOD will humble you and test you to know what is in your heart, whether you will obey GOD’S Commandments or not.

There are times over the course of our lives that GOD HUMBLES us as He did to The Children of Israel, some three million people, during their forty year walk in the Wilderness to The Promised Land from Egypt.  And The LORD continues to humble His Jewish People at times for our good.

The word HUMBLE comes from The Hebrew Word AH’NAH that means, AFFLICT, AND CHASTEN.  SO YES, THERE ARE TIMES THAT GOD WILL HUMBLE YOU, AND AFFLICT YOU, AND CHASTEN YOU.  IT’S SOMETHING WE HAVE ALL EXPERIENCED, AFFLICTION AND CHASTENING WHEN WE ARE TROUBLED WITH SOME PHYSICAL OR MENTAL PAIN.

AND GOD WILL TEST US FROM TIME TO TIME.  GOD AT TIMES PUTS US TO THE TEST TO SEE IF WE ARE GENUINE.  AND THE TEST IS FOR US, TO KNOW IF WE TRULY ARE A MAN OR WOMAN OF GOD WHO OBEYS HIM.  WHO OBEYS HIS COMMANDMENTS, HIS LAW OF MOSES.

Yeshua The Messiah tells a story of two people who are tested with the afflictions and troubles of life.  One person was prepared because he kept the Commandments of GOD, GOD’S Law of Moses.  The other person did not.  LUKE 6.46-49

LUKE 6.46  MESSIAH SAID, WHY DO YOU CALL ME LORD, LORD, AND DO NOT DO THE THINGS WHICH I SAY?

THAT IS HOW WE ARE NOT PREPARED FOR LIFE’S PROBLEMS, BY NOT DOING WHAT GOD SAYS IN THE BIBLE.

ALSO, PEOPLE ARE NOT PREPARED FOR THE PROBLEMS OF LIFE WHEN THEY DO NOT BELIEVE THAT MESSIAH YESHUA IS GOD ALMIGHTY, THE FATHER.

THERE IS ONLY ONE LORD.  NOT TWO, OR THREE, OR FOUR.  THE LORD OF THE OLD TESTAMENT, AND THE LORD OF THE NEW TESTAMENT ARE THE SAME LORD BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY ONE LORD.  DEUTERONOMY 6.4, MARK 12.29, ETC.

THE LORD YESHUA THE MESSIAH, AND THE FATHER, GOD ALMIGHTY ARE ONE AND THE SAME GOD, THE SAME LORD.  YESHUA THE MESSIAH IS GOD ALMIGHTY, THE FATHER.

LISTEN TO THIS.  WHEN MESSIAH YESHUA WAS BORN FROM THE VIRGIN MIRIAM, THAT LITTLE BABY WAS GOD ALMIGHTY, THE FATHER.  HEBREW BIBLE ISAIAH 9.5, CHRISTIAN BIBLE ISAIAH 9.6, JOHN 14.9

GENESIS 1.1 READS, IN THE BEGINNING, GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH.

GOD IS MESSIAH YESHUA WHO CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH.

GENESIS 1.1-3  MESSIAH YESHUA IS GOD ALMIGHTY.  HE IS ELOHIM, THE FATHER, THE SON OF GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND THE SPIRIT OF GOD WHO MOVED UPON THE FACE OF THE WATERS.

SO IN LUKE 6.46, MESSIAH SAID, WHY DO YOU CALL ME LORD, LORD AND DO NOT DO THE THINGS WHICH I SAY?

WHY DO YOU NOT OBEY MY COMMANDMENTS?  WHY DO YOU NOT OBEY MY LAW OF MOSES?  AND WHY DO YOU SAY I AM NOT THE FATHER?

LUKE 6.47  MESSIAH SPOKE IN HEBREW.  AND WHEN YOU TRANSLATE HIS HEBREW WORDS TO ENGLISH, MESSIAH SAID, WHOSOEVER COMES TO ME AND HEARS AND OBEYS MY WORDS, AND DOES THEM, I WILL SHOW YOU TO WHOM HE IS LIKE.

LUKE 6.48  WHOSOEVER OBEYS MESSIAH’S WORDS, MESSIAH IS GOD ALMIGHTY, AND DOES THEM IS LIKE A MAN WHO BUILT A HOUSE AND DUG DEEP AND LAID THE FOUNDATION ON A ROCK.  AND WHEN THE FLOOD AROSE, AND THE STREAM OF WATER BEAT VEHEMENTLY UPON THAT HOUSE, THE FLOOD COULD NOT SHAKE IT.  FOR THE HOUSE WAS BUILT ON A ROCK.

THAT IS THE STORY OF LIFE.  HAVING YOUR FOUNDATION BUILT ON A ROCK.  AND THAT ROCK IS MESSIAH YESHUA, GOD ALMIGHTY.

SO WHEN LIFE’S TROUBLES COME, AND YOUR FOUNDATION IS GOD ALMIGHTY, THE MESSIAH YESHUA, AND YOU OBEY GOD’S WORDS, HIS COMMANDMENTS AND LAWS, YES, YOU FEEL THOSE TROUBLES, BUT YOU WILL NOT WAVER BECAUSE YOUR LIFE IS BUILT ON THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.

BUT IN LUKE 6.49, THE PERSON WHO HEARS BUT DOES NOT OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD IS LIKE A MAN THAT IS WITHOUT A FOUNDATION WHO BUILT A HOUSE ON EARTH.  AND WHEN THE TROUBLES OF LIFE CAME LIKE A FLOOD, IMMEDIATELY THAT PERSON FELL.

SO, YES, AT TIMES GOD HUMBLES US AND AFFLICTS US AND TESTS US TO KNOW WHETHER WE WILL OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS OR NOT.  AND THOSE WHO OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, STAND.  THOSE WHO DO NOT OBEY GOD’S COMMANDMENTS FALL.

SOME PEOPLE OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.  MOST OTHERS ARE TAUGHT THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE TO OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.

THIS PARABLE SPOKEN BY MESSIAH YESHUA IS FOR EVERYBODY.  AND THE PERSON WHO OBEYS THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD WILL STAND WHEN THE TROUBLES OF LIFE COME UPON THEM.  THEY WILL FEEL THOSE TROUBLES, BUT THEY WILL NOT BE MOVED, NOR WILL THEY FALL.

PROVERBS 17.3  THE WORD REFINING MEANS TO BRING US INTO A PURE STATE FREE OR SEPARATE FROM IMPURITIES, OR FREE FROM SIN.

GOD REFINES US BY TESTING US AT TIMES WITH TROUBLES AND AFFLICTIONS TO WAKE US UP TO BRING US INTO A PURE STATE SEPARATE FROM SIN BY OBEYING HIS COMMANDMENTS, HIS LAW OF MOSES.  SIN AS YOU KNOW IS BREAKING THE LAW OF MOSES.  BUT BY OBEYING GOD’S LAW, YOU ARE PURE IN THE EYES OF THE LORD.  1 JOHN 3.4

ZECHARIAH 13.9  WHEN GOD REFINES YOU, YOU STOP SINNING.  AGAIN, SIN IS BREAKING GOD’S LAWS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THE LAW OF MOSES.  AND WHEN YOU START OBEYING GOD BY OBEYING HIS LAW OF MOSES, AND CALL UPON THE LORD, THE LORD WILL HEAR YOU, AND GOD WILL SAY, YOU ARE MY PEOPLE, AND YOU WILL SAY, THE LORD IS MY GOD.

1 PETER 5.6  TO BE HUMBLE BEFORE GOD IS TO SUBMIT YOURSELF TO GOD, AND OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS THAT ARE HIS LAW OF MOSES.

AND GOD WILL EXALT YOU IN DUE TIME IS WELL EXPLAINED IN PSALM 91.14-16

DEUTERONOMY 8.3  THE HEBREW WORD FOR BREAD IS L’KHEM THAT ALSO MEANS FOOD.

GOD SAID TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL IN THE WILDERNESS THROUGH HIS PROPHET MOSES, THAT GOD HUMBLED YOU, AND CAUSED YOU TO HUNGER, AND FED YOU WITH MANNA THAT NEITHER YOU NOR YOUR FATHERS HAD EVER KNOWN TO MAKE YOU KNOW THAT MAN DOES NOT LIVE BY FOOD ALONE BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE LORD DOES MAN LIVE.  MATTHEW 4.4, LUKE 4.4

DEUTERONOMY 8.3 IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TEACHINGS IN THE ENTIRE BIBLE, IF NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT.  BECAUSE GOD SAYS, MAN SHOULD LIVE BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.

THAT IS THE WAY TO HAVE A GOOD AND HEALTHY LIFE ON EARTH AND ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN.  LIVING YOUR LIFE ACCORDING TO EVERY WORD THAT GOD SPEAKS FROM GENESIS THROUGH REVELATION.  THAT INCLUDES MATTHEW 26.28.

WHICH TAKES ME TO MY NEXT POINT.  GOD SAYS IN TORAH, IN DEUTERONOMY 8.3 THAT MAN SHOULD LIVE BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE LORD.

LET’S LOOK AT LUKE 9.33-35

GOD SPOKE, AND SAID, THIS IS MY BELOVED SON. HEAR HIM.

GOD’S BELOVED SON, AS EVERYONE KNOWS, IS MESSIAH YESHUA.  AND THE HEBREW FOR HEAR, AS IN GOD SAYING, “HEAR HIM” IS SHEMA, MEANING, OBEY HIM.

ISAIAH PROPHESIES THAT A CHILD WILL BE BORN TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE, AND A SON WILL BE GIVEN TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE.  AND THAT CHILD IS THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE PRINCE OF PEACE.  HEBREW BIBLE ISAIAH 9.5, CHRISTIAN BIBLE ISAIAH 9.6

EVERY BIBLE BELIEVING PERSON SHOULD RECOGNIZE THAT THAT CHILD BORN TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE, AND THAT SON GIVEN TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE WHOSE NAME IS CALLED, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE PRINCE OF PEACE IS THE MESSIAH YESHUA.

HE IS GOD’S BELOVED SON.

THE POINT I’M MAKING IS SIMPLE.  TORAH, THE LAW OF MOSES, THE WORD OF GOD SAYS, AND IT IS WRITTEN IN DEUTERONOMY 8.3, MAN IS TO LIVE BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.

AND IN LUKE 9.35, THE VOICE OUT OF THE CLOUD WAS THE VOICE OF GOD, SAYING, THIS IS MY BELOVED SON.  HEAR HIM.

GOD’S BELOVED SON IS YESHUA THE MESSIAH, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE PRINCE OF PEACE.

MESSIAH YESHUA IS GOD ALMIGHTY, THE EVERLASTING FATHER.

AND WE ARE TO HEAR MESSIAH AND OBEY HIM.  AND KNOW, AND BELIEVE, AND UNDERSTAND THAT MESSIAH YESHUA IS NOT A DISTINCT AND DIFFERENT GOD FROM THE FATHER, BUT THAT MESSIAH YESHUA IS THE FATHER.

Shalom.

ALL THE COMMANDMENTS WHICH I COMMAND YOU THIS DAY SHALL YOU OBSERVE TO DO THAT YOU MAY LIVE.

Shalom.

Our teaching will continue from Torah, The Law of Moses, from The Words of Deuteronomy 8.1.

AND THE TITLE OF OUR MESSAGE IS, ALL THE COMMANDMENTS WHICH I COMMAND YOU THIS DAY SHALL YOU OBSERVE TO DO THAT YOU MAY LIVE.

So with that said, let’s read Deuteronomy 8.1.

GOD’S Commandments are His Law, His Law of Moses.  And as we have often taught, The Hebrew Word for Commandments is MEETZ’VOTE, meaning, The Entire Law of Moses that is written in the first five Books of The Bible.

AND THE LORD YOUR GOD SAYS, ALL THE COMMANDMENTS WHICH I COMMAND YOU THIS DAY SHALL YOU OBSERVE TO DO THAT YOU MAY LIVE.

SO THE QUESTION HERE IS, LORD, WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT I WILL LIVE IF I OBSERVE TO DO ALL YOUR COMMANDMENTS?

AND, YES, I UNDERSTAND THAT ALL YOUR COMMANDMENTS ARE ALL YOUR LAWS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN TORAH, THE LAW OF MOSES.

THEREFORE I HAVE A FEW SCRIPTURES THAT TELL YOU WHAT GOD MEANS THAT YOU WILL LIVE WHEN YOU OBEY TORAH, GOD’S LAW OF MOSES.

HEBREW BIBLE DEUTERONOMY 5.29-30, CHRISTIAN BIBLE DEUTERONOMY 5.32-33

WHEN YOU OBSERVE TO DO ALL THE COMMANDMENTS THAT GOD COMMANDS YOU TO DO, YOU WILL NOT ONLY PROLONG YOUR DAYS, IT WILL ALSO GO WELL WITH YOU.

THE WORD WELL IN HEBREW IS TOVE, AND TOVE HAS A LOT OF WONDERFUL MEANINGS FOR YOU WHEN YOU OBSERVE TO DO ALL THE COMMANDMENTS THAT GOD COMMANDS YOU TO DO.

IT WILL GO WELL WITH YOU MEANS, LIFE WILL BE GOOD FOR YOU.  LIFE WILL BE BEAUTIFUL, THE BEST AND BETTER FOR YOU. YOUR LIFE WILL BE CHEERFUL AND GLAD, AND JOYFUL, WITH KINDNESS.  YOU WILL HAVE LOVE IN YOUR LIFE.  YOUR LIFE WILL BE MERRY, AND PLEASANT, PRECIOUS, AND SWEET.  AND YOU WILL PROSPER, AND HAVE WEALTH.  AND LIFE WILL BE A PLEASURE FOR YOU.  YOU WILL BE WELL.  YOU WILL HAVE WELFARE.  THAT IS YOU WILL HAVE GOOD FORTUNE, HEALTH, HAPPINESS, PROSPERITY, ETC. WHEN YOU OBEY THE LORD YOUR GOD AND OBSERVE TO DO ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS THAT HE COMMANDS YOU TO DO.

AND ALL GOD’S COMMANDMENTS ARE HIS LAWS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THE LAW OF MOSES.

THE NEXT SCRIPTURE THAT EXPLAINS WHAT LIFE IS WHEN YOU OBSERVE TO DO ALL GOD’S COMMANDMENTS IS DEUTERONOMY 6.1-3

FOCUSING ON VERSE 3, YOUR LIFE WILL INCREASE MIGHTILY.  THE WORD INCREASE IN HEBREW IS RAHV MEANING EXCEL.  AND WHEN YOU OBEY GOD, YOU WILL EXCEL, YOU WILL BE GREAT IN THE SIGHT OF GOD, AND HAVE PLENTY WHEN YOU OBSERVE TO DO ALL THE COMMANDMENTS THAT GOD COMMANDS YOU TO DO.

THAT IS THE LIFE THAT GOD WILL GIVE YOU WHEN YOU OBSERVE TO DO ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS.  SEE MATTHEW 4.4

PSALM 119.1-4  WHEN YOU OBSERVE TO DO ALL THE COMMANDMENTS THAT GOD COMMANDS YOU TO DO, YOU WILL BE BLESSED BECAUSE YOU WILL WALK IN THE LAW OF THE LORD WHICH IS TORAH, GOD’S LAW OF MOSES.

YOU WILL HAVE NO INIQUITY BECAUSE YOU WALK IN GOD’S WAYS AND YOU KEEP HIS PRECEPTS DILIGENTLY.

GOD’S PRECEPTS ARE ALL HIS LAWS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THE LAW OF MOSES.  AND BY SO DOING, GOD WILL BLESS YOU.  THAT WILL BE YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU WALK WITH THE LORD.

1 THESSALONIANS 4.1  WHEN YOU WALK TO PLEASE GOD BY OBSERVING TO DO ALL THE COMMANDMENTS THAT GOD COMMANDS YOU TO DO, YOU WILL ABOUND MORE AND MORE.  MEANING, YOU WILL EXCEL MORE AND MORE.  AND YOU WILL EXPERIENCE A GOOD LIFE FOR DOING WHAT THE LORD YOUR GOD REQUIRES OF YOU.

1 JOHN 3.22-24  WHATSOEVER WE ASK, WE RECEIVE OF HIM BECAUSE WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, HIS LAW OF MOSES, AND DO THOSE THINGS THAT ARE PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT.  AND YOU BECOME ONE WITH GOD WHEN YOU WALK WITH GOD.

AND REVELATION 22.14 READS THIS WAY BECAUSE NOT ALL BIBLES HAVE TRANSLATED THESE WORDS CORRECTLY.  REVELATION 22.14 READS, “BLESSED ARE THEY WHO DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, THAT THEY MAY HAVE RIGHT TO THE TREE OF LIFE, AND MAY ENTER IN THROUGH THE GATES INTO THE CITY.”

OBEYING GOD, OBSERVING TO DO ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS THAT GOD COMMANDS YOU TO DO, IS ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN.  AND FROM WHAT I READ IN THE BIBLE, ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT, BEAUTIFUL, AND MAGNIFICENT, WITHOUT PAIN OR DEATH.

WHEN YOU HAVE FAITH IN MESSIAH YESHUA FOR ATONEMENT, AND OBSERVE TO DO ALL GOD’S COMMANDMENTS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN TORAH, THE LAW OF MOSES IN THE FIRST FIVE BOOKS OF THE BIBLE, YOUR LIFE ON EARTH WILL FLOURISH AND PROSPER.

DEUTERONOMY 30.15-16,19-20 EXPLAINS WHAT GOD REQUIRES OF YOU TO HAVE LIFE, A GOOD LIFE, AND A HEALTHY LIFE ON EARTH, AND ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN.

GOD REQUIRES YOU TO OBEY ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS, NOT JUST THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, BUT ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN TORAH, THE LAW OF MOSES.

AND GOD REQUIRES YOU TO LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND TO WALK IN ALL HIS WAYS.  AND GOD’S WAYS ARE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDMENTS.

AND GOD REQUIRES YOU TO KEEP HIS STATUTES AND HIS JUDGMENTS.  GOD’S STATUTES ARE HIS LAWS, HIS ORDINANCES, HIS SABBATHS AND FESTIVALS WRITTEN IN LEVITICUS 23.  AND GOD’S JUDGMENTS REQUIRE YOU TO MAKE ALL YOUR DECISIONS ACCORDING TO TORAH, THE LAW OF MOSES.

AND GOD SAYS, YOU WILL LIVE AND MULTIPLY, AND THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL BLESS YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN, AND YOUR CHILDREN’S CHILDREN IN THE LAND THAT YOU ARE LIVING IN.

AND THE LORD CONTINUES, SAYING IN DEUTERONOMY  30.20, YOU SHOULD LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND OBEY HIS VOICE, AND CLEAVE TO HIM.  THAT IS, YOU SHOULD JOIN YOURSELF TOGETHER WITH THE LORD YOUR GOD, FOR GOD IS YOUR LIFE AND THE LENGTH OF YOUR DAYS IN THE LAND WHERE YOU LIVE.

YESHUA THE MESSIAH IS GOD ALMIGHTY, HA SHEM ELOHIM.  AND THERE IS NO CHANGE IN GOD’S TEACHINGS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.

THE WORD OF GOD NEVER CHANGES OR ENDS. ISAIAH 40.8

JOHN 6.63  YESHUA THE MESSIAH SAID, IT IS THE SPIRIT THAT QUICKENS.  MEANING, IT IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD THAT GIVES YOU LIFE.  THE LIFE THAT GOD DESIRES FOR YOU WHEN YOU OBEY THE LORD YOUR GOD.

MESSIAH YESHUA IS GOD ALMIGHTY.  AND THE SPIRIT OF MESSIAH IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD ALMIGHTY, THE FATHER, THE ONE AND ONLY GOD.

THEREFORE THE WORDS THAT MESSIAH SPEAKS ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE WHEN YOU OBEY THE WORDS OF MESSIAH.

THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD LIFE ON EARTH, AND A PERFECT LIFE IN THE MESSIANIC KINGDOM ON EARTH IN ISRAEL FOR 1,000 YEARS, AND ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN.

EZEKIEL 36.27-28  WHEN YOU DO WHAT GOD COMMANDS YOU TO DO, YOU BECOME PART OF GOD’S PEOPLE, AND GOD BECOMES YOUR GOD.  JOHN 14.9, JOHN 10.30

LIFE IS ETERNAL, WHETHER ONE SPENDS ETERNITY IN HEAVEN OR HELL.

JOHN 3.16  IS A VERY POPULAR SCRIPTURE.  “FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.”

UNDERSTANDING GOD, KNOWING HIM, AND BELIEVING HIM IS TO KNOW AND BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD.  THEREFORE THE SON OF GOD, MESSIAH YESHUA IS GOD ALMIGHTY.  DEUTERONOMY 6.4, MARK 12.29, ISAIAH 43.10-11, HEBREW BIBLE ISAIAH 9.5, CHRISTIAN BIBLE ISAIAH 9.6, JOHN 14.9

AND GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

GOD ALMIGHTY MADE HIMSELF A HUMAN BEING IN THE PERSON OF MESSIAH YESHUA WHO IS ABLE TO DIE AND GIVE HIS LIFE FOR OUR ATONEMENT.  GOD NEVER DIES, GOD CAN NOT DIE, BUT HUMAN BEINGS DIE AS MESSIAH DIED TO GAVE HIS LIFE FOR OUR ATONEMENT.  PSALM 22.1, MATTHEW 27.46

AND THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN MESSIAH YESHUA MUST BE OBEDIENT TO MESSIAH YESHUA, FOR MESSIAH IS GOD ALMIGHTY.

SO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN MESSIAH YESHUA AND OBEY HIM, FOR MESSIAH IS GOD ALMIGHTY, WILL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

AND THAT IS THE LIFE GOD DESIRES FOR YOU.

JOHN 5.24  THE HEBREW WORD FOR “HEAR” AS IN, HE OR SHE THAT “HEARS” MY WORD, IS SHEMA.  SHEMA AS YOU KNOW, MEANS ” HEAR AND OBEY”.  YESHUA SAYS, HE OR SHE WHO “OBEYS” MY WORD AND BELIEVES ON HIM WHO SENT ME HAS EVERLASTING LIFE.

AGAIN, MESSIAH IS GOD ALMIGHTY.

AND THE ONE WHO SENT MESSIAH IS HIMSELF, GOD ALMIGHTY.  FOR GOD CAN BE HERE, THERE, AND EVERYWHERE AT THE SAME TIME.  JOHN 12.45, 49, JOHN 8.58, JOHN 14.9, JOHN 10.30, GENESIS 19.24, PSALM 110.1

HE OR SHE WHO OBEYS MESSIAH YESHUA’S WORDS, AND BELIEVES ON HIM THAT SENT HIM HAS EVERLASTING LIFE, AND SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION, BUT IS PASSED FROM DEATH TO LIFE.

OBEDIENCE TO GOD, AND BELIEF IN ONE GOD ARE THE FOUNDATION OF THE BIBLE.  MARK 12.29, DEUTERONOMY 6.4

AND GOD SAYS, ALL THE COMMANDMENTS WHICH I COMMAND YOU THIS DAY SHALL YOU OBSERVE TO DO THAT YOU MAY LIVE.

YOU WILL EXCEL ON EARTH, AND HAVE ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN WHEN YOU OBEY EVERY WORD OF GOD.  BECAUSE EVERY WORD OF GOD IS LAW AND EVERY WORD OF GOD IS HIS COMMANDMENT.  AND THE WORD OF GOD IS LIFE.  1 JOHN 1.9

The Bible says that The LORD GOD formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul.

And GOD also formed us and formed our spirit.  Therefore GOD has determined who we are and what we are, and our path of life.  GENESIS 2.7, ZECHARIAH 12.1

ZECHARIAH 12.1  THE HEBREW FOR FORMED IS YO’STEHR MEANING THE SQUEEZING INTO SHAPE AS DOES A POTTER, TO MOLD INTO A FORM AS A POTTER, AND TO DETERMINE.

SO IT IS GOD WHO GIVES US LIFE, AND IT IS GOD’S BREATH IN US WHO IS OUR LIFE, AND IT IS GOD WHO DETERMINES OUR LIFE.

And of course, while GOD’S Breath remains in us, we live.

GOD’S BREATH, AS IN THE BREATH OF LIFE IN HEBREW IS NEESH’MAHT.

GODS BREATH OF LIFE HAS SOME VERY INTERESTING MEANINGS.

GOD’S BREATH IS GOD’S SPIRIT.  GOD’S BREATH IS LIFE AND WISDOM.  AND GOD’S BREATH IS THE SPIRIT OF THE HUMAN BEING, AND THE SOUL OF THE PERSON.  GENESIS 1.1

JOB. 32.8, JOB 33.4, JOB 27.3, PROVERBS 20.27, HEBREW BIBLE PSALM 18.16, CHRISTIAN BIBLE PSALM 18.15

JOB 32.8  THE HEBREW FOR INSPIRATION IS ALSO NEESH’MAHT MEANING BREATH.  THEREFORE THE SPIRIT IN MAN, AND THE INSPIRATION OR BREATH OF THE ALMIGHTY GIVE US UNDERSTANDING.

JOB 33.4  THE SPIRIT OF GOD HAS MADE ME, AND THE BREATH OF THE ALMIGHTY HAS GIVEN ME LIFE.

JOB 27.3  ALL THE WHILE MY BREATH IS IN ME, THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS IN MY NOSTRILS.

PROVERBS 20.27  THE SPIRIT OF MAN IS THE CANDLE OF THE LORD, SEARCHING ALL THE INWARD PARTS.

And that is why GOD says, Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him, Saith The LORD?  Do not I fill the Heavens and the earth, saith The LORD.  JEREMIAH 23.24

HEBREW BIBLE PSALM 18.16, CHRISTIAN BIBLE PSALM 18.15  The mighty waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at GOD’S rebuke, at the blast of The Breath of GOD’S Nostrils.

GOD’S BREATH THAT IS IN US IS THE MIGHTY POWER OF GOD.

THE MIGHTY POWER OF GOD IS THE LIFE THAT IS IN US.  THINK ON THOSE WORDS FOR A MOMENT.

THAT IS WHY PAUL WRITES, I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH MESSIAH WHO STRENGTHENS ME.  PHILIPPIANS 4.13

The Hebrew Word for LIFE in Genesis 2.7 in which GOD said, And GOD Breathed into his nostrils The Breath of LIFE is KHAH’YEEM, meaning LIFE (plural).  The singular Hebrew word for LIFE IS KHY;  The plural Hebrew word for LIFE IS KHAH’YEEM.

l’KHAH’YEEM.  TO LIFE.

Therefore The Breath of Life that GOD has Breathed into every human being is Life on earth.  And after death, life somewhere else.  Either in Heaven or hell.  Those are the only two places a person or soul goes after death, Heaven or hell.  LUKE 16.22-23

Abraham is in Heaven.  The beggar died and was carried by the Angels into Abraham’s bosom.  The rich man also died and went to hell.

SO, ALWAYS REMEMBER THE WORDS THAT GOD SPEAKS TO YOU.  ALL THE COMMANDMENTS WHICH I COMMAND YOU THIS DAY SHALL YOU OBSERVE TO DO THAT YOU MAY LIVE.

Shalom.

PURIM, A TIME TURNED FROM SORROW TO JOY.

Shalom.

Today’s message is about Purim.  Purim is The Great Jewish Holiday that falls on the 14th and 15th days of the Hebrew month Adar.  This year from Wednesday the 28th of February at sundown to Friday, March 2nd at sundown.

And the story of Purim is found in The Book of Esther.

AND THE TITLE OF OUR MESSAGE IS, PURIM, A TIME TURNED FROM SORROW TO JOY.

This is the story of Purim that happened some 2,450 years ago during the days of The Great Persian Empire that stretched from India to Ethiopia.  Persia is Iran.

Ahasuerus, also known in Iran as Xerxes, was the King of the Great Persian Empire during the days of the first Purim that he helped create.  And he reigned from India to Ethiopia which had a huge Jewish population, perhaps the world’s Jewish population.

And in the third year of his reign he made a feast for all his Princes, and servants, and nobles, and all the power of Persia and Media.  They were all there before him at the feast.  Persia and Media today are Iran.

And he gloried in all the riches of his glorious kingdom for 180 days of feasting and drinking.

And the King followed that feast with another feast for all the people that were present in the Shushan Palace, both for the small and the great for seven days in the court of the garden of the King’s palace with all the King’s luxurious and garish furnishings.  And the drinking continued.

Shushan was the name of both the palace and the large city where the Palace was located.

And Vashti, the Queen also made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to King Ahasuerus.

Now on the seventh day when the King was good and drunk and happy with wine, he commanded his servants to bring his Queen Vashti before him with her royal crown to show off her beauty to the people and the Princes, for she was beautiful to look at.

But the Queen refused to come.  And the King was beside himself with anger.

So the King called his experts and wise men together, and those who knew Persian law and judgment, and those who saw the King’s face daily, and sat first in the kingdom, and asked them, What shall we do to Queen Vashti according to law because she has not performed the commandment of the King?

And one of his wise men answered and said, Before the King and the Princes, Vashti the Queen has not done wrong to the King only, but also to all the Princes, and all the people that are in all the provinces of the King Ahasuerus.  For this deed of the Queen will be told to all the women and they will despise their husbands when they hear that Queen Vashti would not come before her husband.  And there will be contempt and wrath throughout the kingdom.

So if it please the King, do not let Queen Vashti come before the King Ahasuerus.  And let the King give her royal estate to another who is better than she.  And when the King’s decree is published throughout the Empire, for it is great, all the wives will give honor to their husbands, both to the great, and to the small.

And the saying pleased the King and the Princes.  And the King did exactly as his wise man said.

So the King had letters sent to all the King’s provinces throughout the kingdom, that every man should bear rule in his own house.  And the letters were published according to the languages of all the people.

And in time when the King was calm, he remembered Vashti and what she had done, and what was decreed against her.

And yet another proposal was presented to the King.  Hold a beauty contest.

Let the most beautiful virgins in the kingdom gather together at the Shushan Palace to the house of the women, and to the custody of the King’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women.  And let their things for purification be given to them.  And let the lady who pleases the king be Queen instead of Vashti.  And that pleased the King also.

Now in Shushan the Palace there was a certain Jew whose name was Mordecai, a Benjamite who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity, whom Nebuchadnezzar the King of Babylon had carried away.  And Mordecai brought up Hadassah, that is Esther, his uncle’s daughter.  For Esther had neither father or mother, and she was beautiful, whom Mordecai, when Esther’s father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.

So after reading the King’s announcement about the beauty contest with the winner becoming Queen of the Great Persian Empire, Mordecai brought Esther to the King’s house to the custody of the keeper of the women.  And immediately she found favor with the keeper of the women, and he preferred her above all the other ladies.

And Esther did not tell anyone that she was Jewish, because that’s what her uncle Mordecai told her to do.  Don’t tell anyone you are Jewish.

And the King loved Esther more than all the other women, and he placed the royal crown upon Esther’s head, and made her Queen instead of Vashti.  And the King made a great feast.  And another feast called Esther’s feast.  And the King made a release, perhaps a holiday in the provinces, and he gave gifts according to the state of the King.

GOD IS NOT MENTIONED IN THIS STORY OF ESTHER AND PURIM, BUT THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL IS VERY MUCH INVOLVED FOR THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL WILL NEVER LEAVE NOR FORSAKE HIS PEOPLE.

And Mordecai, Esther’s uncle overheard a plot to kill the King Ahasuerus.  And he told it to Esther the Queen, and Esther reported it to the King, and that the information was made known by Mordecai.  And after a thorough investigation, those who planned the King’s death were both hung on a tree.  And it was written in the Book of The Chronicles before the King.

Now comes the rise of the archenemy of The Jews, Haman.  Haman the Agagite was a descendant of Agag the Amalakite king.

So after all these things, King Ahasuerus promoted Haman the Agagite above all the King’s Princes.  And everyone bowed to this Haman, but Mordecai.  And it was told to Haman that Mordecai was a Jew.  And when Mordecai continued to not bow down to Haman, Haman became furious and hated Mordecai.  And Haman sought to kill Mordecai alone.  And Haman also sought to destroy and kill all The Jews throughout the kingdom of Ahasuerus.

Let’s do a little history of Haman’s ancestors the Amalakites.  And it’s shocking to find that the Amalakites descend from Esau, Jacob’s twin brother.  Jacob was one the great men who walked the earth.  GOD named him Israel.  Esau and Jacob are the sons of Isaac, and the grandsons of Abraham.  GENESIS 36.9-12, EXODUS 17.8-16, DEUTERONOMY 25.17-19, 1 SAMUEL 15.1-35

So Haman’s people began to toss pur before Haman.  The plural for pur is Purim meaning lots, to determine the best time for Haman to slaughter The Jews.

And Haman said to King Ahasuerus, there is a certain people scattered throughout and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom.  And their laws are different from all people.  Neither do they keep the King’s laws.  Therefore it is not to the King’s profit to let them live.

If it pleases the King, Haman said, let it be written that The Jews be destroyed.  And I will pay ten thousand talents of silver into the King’s treasury to get the job done.

And the King took his ring from his hand and gave it to Haman the Agagite, the enemy of The Jews.  ESTHER 3.1, 8-11

Anti-Semites are stupid, and King Ahasuerus falls into that breed.  And his wife, Queen Esther is Jewish, which the King doesn’t know, but that spells death to Haman, and an opportunity for the King to change.  And for The Jewish People and all the world to Praise THE LORD GOD, THE GOD OF ISRAEL, for Messiah had not yet come.

And the King said to Haman, the silver is given to you, the people also, to do with The Jews as it seems good to you.

And the King had his scribes write according to all that Haman said, and sent to the King’s lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and the rulers of the people of every province after their own language in the name of the King Ahasuerus.  And the writing was sealed with the King’s ring.

And the letters were sent by posts on horseback into all the King’s provinces to destroy, kill, and cause to perish all Jews both young and old, little children and women, in one day on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month which is the month Adar.  And plunder The Jews for a prey.  A decree, if accomplished, would be genocide.

And the posts on horseback were sent out in haste at the King’s commandment.  And the decree was given in Shushan the Palace.

And the King and Haman sat down to drink.  But the city of Shushan was perplexed.

And when Mordecai read what was to be done to his people, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out through the city crying with a loud and bitter cry.  And he came in front of the palace gate, but no one was allowed to enter the King’s gate clothed in sackcloth.

And in all the provinces there was great mourning among The Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing, and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

And Esther’s maids told her about Mordecai, and she was grieved and sent him clothing, and told to take off the sackcloth.  But he refused and would not receive her gift.

And Esther sent one of the King’s chamberlains to find out what was wrong?  And when he came to Mordecai, Mordecai told him of Haman’s payment to the King’s treasuries to destroy The Jews.  And he gave him a copy of the writing of the decree to kill The Jews.  And show it to Esther, and tell her to go into the King and plead with him and appeal to him for her people.

And when the chamberlain told Esther of the words of Mordecai, and the decree to kill The Jews, she sent the chamberlain back to Mordecai to tell him that whoever comes to the King and is not called, there is but one law, to put that person to death.  Because the King must hold out his golden scepter that that person may live.  And I have not been called to come to the King these past thirty days.

So Mordecai sent word back to Queen Esther, Do not think within yourself that you will escape in the King’s house more than all The Jews.  For if you altogether hold your peace at this time, then shall relief and deliverance arise to The Jews from another place.  But you and your father’s house will be destroyed.  And who knows whether you are to come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Then Esther returned her answer to Mordecai.  Go and gather all The Jews together that are present at Shushan, and fast for me.  And neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day.  I and also my maidens will fast likewise.  And then I will go in to the King which is not according to Law.  And if I perish, I perish.

So Mordecai went his way and did according to all that Esther told him.

So on the third day, Esther put on her royal clothing and stood in the inner court of the King’s house, and the King sat on his royal throne in the royal house.

And when the King saw Esther the Queen standing in the court, she received favor in his sight.  And the King held out the golden scepter to Queen Esther, and Esther touched the top of the scepter.

And the King said to Queen Esther, What troubles you Queen Esther?  What is your request?  Even to half the kingdom shall be granted to you.

And Esther replied, If it seems good to the King, let the King and Haman come this day to the banquet that I have prepared for him.

And the King said, Cause Haman to make haste to do as Queen Esther has said.  So the King and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

And the King said to Queen Esther at the banquet of wine, What is your petition, and it shall be granted to you, and what is your request?  Even to half the kingdom it shall be performed.

And Esther said, My petition and my request is If I have found favor in the sight of the King, and if it please the King to grant my petition and perform my request, let the King and Haman come to the banquet that I will prepare, and I will do tomorrow as the King has said.

So Haman left and was as happy as a kid who had his first MacDonald’s hamburger.  But when Haman saw Mordecai at the King’s gate, and Mordecai would not even stand up for him, or even move, he hated Mordecai even more.

So Haman arrived home and called his friends and his wife Zeresh and told them how wonderful he was, and boasted of his great wealth, and the large number of children he had, and the promotion he received from the King, and how he was above all the Princes and servants of the King.  And Esther the Queen did not allow anyone else at her banquet that she prepared but myself and the King.  And Tomorrow I am invited by her along with the King.

Yet Haman said, All this avails nothing to me so long as I see Mordecai The Jew sitting at the King’s gate.

Then Zeresh his wife, and all his friends said to him, Let a gallows be made of eighty feet high, and tomorrow speak to the King that Mordecai should be hanged on it.  Then go happily with the King to the banquet.

That night, however, the King couldn’t sleep, and he commanded that The Book of Records of The Chronicles be brought to him.  And they were read before the King.

And it was found written that Mordecai had told of the two men who sought to kill King Ahasuerus.  And the King said, What honor and dignity has been done to Mordecai for this?  Nothing has been done for him, they said.

And the King said, who is in the court?  Now Haman had come to the court to speak to the King about hanging Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

Haman stands in the court, the King’s servants said.  Let him come in, the King said.  And the King said to Haman, What shall be done to the man whom the King delights to honor?  Now Haman thought in his heart, Who but me is the man the King delights to honor?

And Haman said, For the man whom the King delights to honor, let the royal apparel be brought that the King wears, and the horse that the King rides on, and the royal crown that is set on the King’s head, and let the royal apparel and the horse be delivered to the hand of one of the King’s most noble Princes, that they may clothe the man whom the King delights to honor.

And bring him on horseback through the street of the city and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the King delights to honor.

Good, the King said.  Hurry, and take the apparel and the horse just as you have said and so do to Mordecai The Jew that sits at the King’s gate.  And do not omit a single detail of all you have suggested.

So Haman took the King’s royal apparel and his horse and arrayed Mordecai in the King’s clothing, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and cried before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the King delights to honor.

And Mordecai came to the King’s gate.  But Haman rushed home, his head covered in mourning.  And Haman told Zeresh his wife, and all his friends everything that had befallen him.  And the wise men and Zeresh his wife said to him, If Mordecai is a descendant of The Jews before whom you have begun to fall, you shall not prevail against him, but you will surely fall before him.

And while they were yet talking to him, the King’s men came and rushed Haman off to the banquet that Esther the Queen had prepared.  So the King and Haman came to the banquet with Queen Esther.  And the King said again to Esther, What is your petition Queen Esther?  And it shall be granted to you.  And what is your request?  And it shall be performed even to half the kingdom.

Then Queen Esther answered and said, If I have found favor in your sight O King, and if it pleases the King, let my life be granted me as my wish, and my People as my request.  For we have been sold, my People and I to be destroyed, massacred, and exterminated.  Had we only been sold as bondmen and bondwomen I would have kept silent, for the enemy is not worthy of the King’s trouble.

Then the King asked Esther, Who is he?  And where is he that presumes in his heart to do such a thing?  And Esther said, The enemy and adversary is this wicked Haman.  Then Haman became terrified before the King and his Queen.

And the King rose up from the banquet of wine in wrath and went into the palace garden.  And Haman stood up to beg Queen Esther for his life.  For he saw that the King had determined evil against him.

And the King returned only to see Haman fallen on the sofa where Esther was sitting.  And the King said, Will he force himself upon the Queen also before me in my house?  And as the word went out of the King’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face, and hung him on the gallows Haman prepared for Mordecai.  And the King’s wrath was pacified.

So on that day, the King Ahasuerus gave the house of Haman, the enemy of The Jews, to Esther the Queen.  And Mordecai came before the King, for Esther had told the King that Mordecai was her uncle.

And the King took off his ring that he had given to Haman and gave it to Mordecai.  And Esther placed Mordecai over the house of Haman.

And Esther fell on her knees in tears before the King and begged him to prevent the slaughter of her Jewish People.  Then the King said to Queen Esther and Mordecai The Jew, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he sought to kill The Jews.  But the writing that has been sealed by the King cannot be reversed.

But let it be written to The Jews that the King has granted The Jews in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand and fight for their lives.  To destroy and kill, and cause to perish all who assault The Jews, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month which is the month of  Adar.  And let The Jews plunder their enemies.

And a copy of the writing of the King’s commandment was sent to every province, and was published to all people that The Jews should stand and fight for their lives on that day to avenge themselves against their enemies.

And on the thirteenth day of Adar, The Jews killed all who set out to kill them, and no one could withstand them for the fear of The Jews fell upon all people.  And many of the people of the land became Jewish.  And the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the King helped The Jews because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them.  For Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and his fame went out throughout the kingdom.

Thus The Jews killed all their enemies with the sword, and did to those who hated them.  And in Shushan, The Jews killed five hundred men.  And they killed Haman’s ten sons.  But they took none of their goods.  And on the fourteenth day of the month Adar, The Jews killed another three hundred in Shushan who set out to kill them.

And in the other provinces of the kingdom, the Jews stood for their lives and killed another seventy-five thousand, but they took none of their goods.

And on the thirteenth and fourteenth days of the month Adar, The Jews rested from their enemies.  And the month was turned to them from sorrow to joy and from mourning to a good day.  And they made it a time of feasting and gladness.  Therefore The Jewish People call these days Purim after the name of Pur on the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar.  This year, Wednesday at sundown through Friday at sundown, February 28th to March 2nd.  Two days of feasting and gladness, and sending portions to one another and gifts to the poor.

And Esther the Queen and Mordecai The Jew wrote a second letter confirming that these days of Purim shall never cease among The Jews, and the memory of them shall never perish among their descendants.

BARUCH HA SHEM YESHUA HA MASHIAKH.  BLESSED IS THE LORD, YESHUA THE MESSIAH.

Shalom.
